Location: Somewhere around here | Had anything even blinged out their plain helmets or draw art on them? I have a plain brown one that fits me pretty good. Before I was wanting it so plain so I wouldn't attract attention but since I'm going to get looks (or not) I might as well wear one that's pretty and that's more me. |

| I say go for it! If it makes you happy do it, be your own person. No sense following the masses. I have a couple of shirts that aren't really "In Style" but I love them so I wear them anyway. I figure people are always going to find something or someone to talk about so what the Hell. LOL Who knows it might just start a new fad or bring an old fad back to life again. |

| Glitter and cheap hairspray does wonders! Wearing a pink shirt? Just spray cheap hairspray on your helmet and sprinkle pink glitter on it. You can also bling up your horse this way. When finished just wash off and you're ready for your next color. |

Location: Oklahoma | I know a little off topic but I don't understand people when they say they get certain looks or people saying bad stuff bout them because they wear a helmet. I see both with and without and Ive never heard anyone say a bad word bout someone wearing a helmet even before it became the norm. I have heard when there was a horse accident and that person severely injured or passed from the accident "Oh they should have been wearing a helmet and they would have been fine" which also erks me too because we never know what would have been. Yes I know helmets help and have save. Sorry just when you said bout getting looks, You should bling and make it your own style! Kudos to you are wearing one!!!! |

Some of my own family initially made comments about my wearing a helmet. Followed with "cowgirl up", "if it's my time its my time" (also said when discussing seat belts). My response is that I make my living with my brain and I'm a mom. So whatever. I don't compete so my riding is very limited anyway. However, I've been bucked off and on my way down have had those thoughts of "I wish I was wearing a helmet." I don't live on woulda, coulda, shoulda island anymore when it comes to the helmet.

Location: Louisiana | I was under the impression that anything like that would void any type of warranty or replacement program that some brands have. I know the one I bought has a replacement program if I should have a spill, and it specifically says not to alter the helmet including rhinestones, paint, etc or they will not trade it in. |

Sadly, I have. And it was directly to my face (as I was the one wearing a helmet). Happened on a couple different occasions - different people.
Not that it necessarily bothers me any ..... I've been wearing a helmet for the past 30 years and could care less what others think ..... but sadly, there are people like this out there who feel the need to try to belittle others for no apparent reason at all.

Location: southeast Texas | Check the manufactures warranty. The chemicals in glue, paint or other items could weaken the structural integrity of your helmet.

| You could always do like the jockey's do on there helmets. Make some covers out of fabric that have elastic around the bottom. You just need to cut your fabric in the right size triangles and sew them together. That way you could have all kinds of different ones. No reason why you couldn't glue the bling onto the fabric. |

Location: Somewhere around here | I was thinking I might try out of metallic sharpies and drawing a few designs. Of course I'd try to get the weather resistant ones so it might not be Sharpie exactly but you get the idea lol. |
