Need ideas.. advice...opinions...
I have a 6 year old mare who I got in September of last year because they said they coudln't get anything done with her (she had 15 rides tops on her). She would spin circles while running backwards and then try and rub you off via the ground when you applied any pressure to her basically. She has extremely wide whithers and one is larger than the other so I had a lameness done and he found no soreness anywhere and no lameness anywhere. I had her teeth done because she shook her head so badly and turns out she had massive wolf teeth. I gave her 3 weeks off and she became almost a different horse.

Fast forward to a litte over a month ago - She had been doing fairly good - I started roping on her and could work cattle on her. She still has a huge motor and shakes her head a little here and there but did circles correctly, turns around alright, good stop. Then she "coliced." Pawing, stretching out so far her hind end would give out, trying to go down, biting her sides. This colic lasted 5 days in and out of the vet, bloodwork showed absolutely nothing wrong. She continued to eat and drink and poop and pee the entire time. The vet's best guess was an enterolith. I chose not to have the x-rays done due to finances and she pulled out of it on her own. So I gave her a month off and brought her back last week and she is rotten again. This time wants to hump up every time (same saddle)- (NEVER did this before). Shakes her head, swishes her tail, just attitude the entire time. She won't even stand tied at the tree like she used to - wants to paw and swish her tail and be inpatient. I am about ready to give up because I have so many that want to be good and the attitude is starting to wear on me.

I am wondering if ovarian pain is something possible? Would it help explain the colic and the attitude when ridden? She does NOT palpate sore anywhere over her back or hips. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated! I am open to anything but have to be financially reasonable.

One other thing I will add that is a first for me - this mare will NOT bridle up when moving forward but does it naturally moving backwards. I leave her head completely alone when working her just because it was such and issue when I first got her - but I have never had one who won't eventually give in to it.

Any other questions just ask! Very curious on your guys' ideas.

Have you treated for ulcers at all?  Have you supplemented for mare issues (like raspberry leaves) or others like magnesium?  Have you had a chiro and/or massage therapist work on her?  Have you x-rayed for kissing spine or other neck injuries?
Have you had her checked for super saddle fit? Have you checked your saddle for issues?

You said you chose not to get X-rays.i suggest you get X-rays .they are not that expensive and you will hopefully get answers instead of guessing.

Mares can have really painful transitional heat cycles in the spring and fall, so maybe keep an eye on her to see if this happens again and keep dates written down.

We’ve had a lot of clients come in with colicky horses that were actually just ovulating.

The x-rays could prove if she did or didn't have an enrolith.  Since she pulled out of the colic we didn't x-ray. I don't know if the enterolith could cause the all the attitude problem? I could ask the vet.

yes it could be causing major pain,I would x-ray then at least you know, and it's one of the least expensive places to start;)
