So, I am going to buy a saddle and I have one that I really want. It has all of the stuff I want and is being a little bit customized. This saddle will cost $775. I know that I need a back cinch but to get it with the saddle, it would cost $85 extra. This would be a total spending of $860. I have a budget of $900. I do not know if I should buy one that is cheaper(Like on Ebay) or just pay the $85 to have it totally match the saddle. What you think? Btw, this is a Riders Choice saddle. TIA

I'd pay the extra $85. I hate things that don't match.

I know nothing about β€œRiders Choice” who makes them and what quality...so there’s that. Totally custom in that price range makes me leary, honestly. You can get a corriente or a Triple creek for about the same money

You can get a nice quality back Cinch from Teskeys for the same money with billets.

Don't buy it. You would be further ahead just getting a corriente. Even a Dakota saddle would be better.

Please don't buy an off-brand saddle like that. They are masters at sucking in green riders who don't know better. If you have a budget of $900 you can find a nice used, brand name, quality saddle that will last you many years. You will not have any resale value at all on that one you are talking about.

I know nothing about that brand, never heard of them to be honest and as others said, i would be very leary of quality for that price customized. But if its what you want and youve done your research then i would just say to get it! it'll match and you wont have to worry about not being able to find one.

Thanks you all! Just so you know, I am getting it directly from the buyer and not from eBay. But has anyone else owned these saddles? Thanks!

Is this your first saddle to buy/own?

I would buy a better quality used saddle rather than a lower quality new/custom saddle.  Find a nice Double J, cactus or martin in that price range.  Looks don't mean much if its a poor quality saddle.

Good for you for buying and paying for your own saddle, thats awesome ... But the brand of saddle that you are planning on buying dont look like very good quilty to me and others on here, never heard of the brand untill you posted.. Have you ever looked in to the Corriente's barrel saddles? They are a good price and the quilty of leather is pretty darn good and the craftsmanship is nice too for the price.. Heres a few I picked out for you to see in your price range, theres a few people on here that really like them.
These saddles are like 625.00 to 570.00 for these saddles that I am showing you and they come with a matching back cinch.

Not sure on the gullets. Here's the number to the Corriente Saddle Company give them a call and talk to them, 915 525 9009.. Are you can google the web site of theirs and they do have Facebook..
Are make a new thread asking about the corriente saddles on here { BHW} there's a few ladys on here that ride in these and  really like them and dont have a bad thing to say about the saddles. They can help you better that I can on the questions.

Corriente would be better than the brand you are considering. They are respected as an affordable, yet still quality option. The one you are considering is thought of as junk, for all intents and purposes.

The ONLY problem I've had with my Corriente is that it hasn't fit everything I've put it on. BUT it fits the most "normal" built horse I have better than my Pozzi's, Shiloh, Billy Cook, and all my cutting saddles. For the price, they're good quality saddles. Everything on it has held up great and the leather is still in good shape.

Thank you all so much! I might get a Corriente then, because I called and they said it has 90Β° bars(aprox FQHB). Do you have any input on this? Any good advice? Or cons? TIA

Yes, I bought one. Nightmare of a saddle. Horn was off center, leather stapled together. Just bad bad bad. Would not even put it on my horse.

My friend has a corriente! I ride in a tami semas, it fits a wide variety of horses! it fit all of mine and its well over 3/4 of the price of my saddle! I've rode in it as well! very comfy! for the price of the saddle its a quality saddle!
I would defiantly go to a corriente without hesitation!
