I wanted peoples opinions on feeding Renew Gold or a no grain diet. What do you feed, how do you feed it, what supplements do you throw in there?
To add: I don't have a lot of knowledge on feeds so any en site is welcome. :)
My horses are on dry lots with no grass (we don't have a whole lot of land). I am currently feeding a scoop of Tribute Kalm N EZ with a flake or two of alfalfa hay morning and night. Just plain oats and Alfalfa to the older easy to keep mare.

I have several friends that feed it along with alfalfa and a  good vit/mineral supplement and love it :) Their horses look and perform well...

All I feed is Renew Gold (1/2 lbs am and 1/2 lbs pm) with forco, aloe vera and lubrysin and alfalfa cubes. Mine are on a small (1/2 to 3/4 acre) pasture with a round bale.
Works great for us.

Mine get free choice pasture/hay depending on how the pasture looks with only Renew Gold and alfalfa pellets as needed to keep them in a good weight as our weather and show schedules fluctuate.

My horses are on a grass round bale during the day & a good amount of alfalfa hay at night , 3/4 flakes . They are all on renew gold & thriving ! My really hard keeper ulcer prone mare gets 11/2 lbs RG a day . She looks the best she ever has ... I am amazed .. my other 3 are on 1 lb a day . They all look so good .. the one mare gets a good quality brome hay at night , hardly any alfalfa .. she looks great too ! I love feeding very little feed with awesome results .. my horses have been on this program for 2 months now .

Renew Gold is hard to find here TSC usually has 1 bag so I feed Total Equine and my horse had more dapples than usual and held weight. I also added beet pulp and alfalfa pellets soaked and Forco. He is now retired in another state and my new horse is getting the same thing.

I have a mare with PSSM and just switched her from oil to Renew Gold as her primary fat source. She has been on it for a little over a month now and things have been going really well. She still gets a glug of oil so that her MSM sticks to her feed, and to bring her up to the 25% recommended fat per day. Otherwise, she just gets alfalfa pellets and free choice hay. So far I am super happy with Renew Gold, and my mare went from taking a really long time to eat her soup to gobbling it up.

This is why whenever I am in TSC (which seems like once a week lately) I grab the bag of Renew Gold that they have. Right now I am stocked up for the next four months so hopefully won't run into a shortage issue.

My TSC used to only order a couple of bags and I would also try to pick one up to keep up my supply. I than spoke to the manager that agreed to order 6 bags at a time. Took some convincing but he did so. He later thanked me because now he sells a lot of it! It's always in stock, try that. :)

I am not currently feeding RG, but it is not any fault of the product.
My horses love, it, they looked good on it, and it's easy for me to get.
I'm simply trying a different program currently to try and save a little $$$ since I'm feeding more horses than I used to.
They look good currently, but if I felt like they needed "more" I would go back to RG, it's a great feed!

We order through our local Tractor Suookh and order 20 bags at a time and get an additional 10% off through TSC. We finally found a good person at our store that is the only person we deal with and we have figured out how often he needs to order it so he has it in his calendar and orders it. It works out pretty good.

I have 1 horse and was told I would need to order a pallet for them to order. Our TSC is new but its a small one and it really sucks, I try not to go there much.

Pm me your location and I will get it into the TSC store for you without the big order if you would like.

RNG didn't work for my PSSM2 horse so I feed TC30 now. But what I would do differently in your plan is to add more hay - that is not enough. Get some good clean grass hay for them to have to munch on. I completely believe in "free feeding" of grass hay - best for their digestive system.

I went grain free three years ago.  I feed high quality local alfalfa and high quality timothy.  If I need to add supplements of any kind I add it to beet pulp shreds and add water or oil to stick it.  My herd is phat fat, but not obese, and not one has a hay belly.  I have seen great improvement in hooves, manes and tails, and the ones who had been a little colicy or nervous have lost that.

My Tractor Supply also used to carry one or two bags.  I could go online and order though and they would let me know when it came to the local store.  Sometimes this took several weeks so I tried to stay ahead of the supply chain.  Now they have allotted shelf space enough to hold two bags with more in the back.  They just take my wagon and load it up from the back.

?I have been feeding RG to all of my horses for a couple of years and 3 are too fat, 1 is slim, and 1 has other issues.  The 26yo retired show horse just got switched to Equine Senior per vet suggestion and diagnosis of Cushings.  She dropped weight in a matter of weeks and I thought she had cancer or something else quick and fatal.  I can't say the Equine Senior is doing anything for her either.  And she gets the Rx pill every day also.  The slim one is 16 and I've upped her to about 4lbs a day, about ready to try something else on her too.  She gets RG, THE Muscle Mass/joint/ulcer/calm/hoof, all the alfalfa pellets she'll eat in a 2-3 hour period, then is on pasture the other hours of the day.

I feed the Kalm n EZ too. My horses have never looked better. But, mine also get about 10-15 pounds  of alfalfa hay morning and night, plus theyre out to graze all day as well. They only get 2 pounds of the kalm n ez am and pm, then their joint supplement. Oh and i do have them on the purina Outlast for ulcers.
