Location: west of East Texas | I responded to an ad on here and got this response today: Lolol that list of **** makes me laugh..... Whose got time to answer that crap or ask that many useless questions?
I've bought 9 horses in the last 13 years and 7 of those were from online ads. My initial contact is to the email listed in the ad with things I'd like to know about the horse if it's not included in the ad info. I include my phone number and ask them to respond any way they prefer, at their convenience. This way the seller can answer in the way they prefer and I am not interrupting them. Most sellers respond right away and get the conversation started. Not this guy! Guess who I'm not buying a horse from!

And in response to your question, I'm sorry you were treated poorly. I see both sides. At times, the questions from tire kickers are mundane and go nowhere (this is why I rarely sell horses) but, it sounds like your approach would be a welcome change to that if that was the case. |

| Sounds like they don’t really want to sell a horse.
Don’t get me wrong, playing 100 questions with 100 different people is my least favorite part of selling horses, but that’s part of it. I try not to do it when I buy, if the horse is local we usually just go look, but I’m not going to drive hours either without a few questions... |

There are some people you just don't want to deal with and having the name/contact listed sure would save a lot of time. Yes, I know, people use brokers - but brokers also have a reputation. |

Location: NE Texas | You should have just responded.....'First of all, it's "who's" a$$hole!' It doesn't matter how mundane the question may be, when selling horses, saddles, or anything else, you have to know you are going to get some questions that are repetitive and that you may think are silly, but they're important to the potential buyer, whether they're kicking tires or not. You never know who is a serious buyer or not, so as a seller, all should be treated the same.
Now, I can understand a rude response to a super low ball offer or someone putting down the item or animal you're selling to try to get the price lowered, but to respond in that manner to an opening inquiry is ridiculous! |

Location: "Si Fi" Ville | I hate that you were treated this way. Whenever I have a horse for sale it is extremely important that every base gets covered and every question has an answer. First, I care about my ponies therefore I want them to end up in the hands of someone the horse fits. I also care about the purchaser and their safety, comfort, and being happy with their purchase as is my ultimate goal. I also understand as I’ve taken a lot of wasted trips to go look at horses that I was not given all the details. So.... I ask lots of questions. Sometimes it’s a digging expedition because some sellers aren’t very forthcoming.
I would rather someone ask me 50 questions than have to spend the gas and time to drive 5 hours only to find the horse did not suit them.

There is no reason to be rude but I'd be interested to see the list you asked for. I would laugh if you said "does it bathe" does it allow fly spray" does it wear boots" etc those are questions you can ask way later or find out on your own. |

LOL but always looking for another one that will knock my socks off someday again. I would love to know who this Jack wagon was that sends rude response's.. So I guess your considered a tire kicked now, ha ha ha ha..Some people just dont have what it takes to just be nice to a stranger.. Sorry that this happen to you,, Maybe you hit a nerve with a question or two and he was trying to hid something, hummmmm  |

Location: west of East Texas | It does seem like a lot, especially from the non-horsey husband POV. ha ha. But broken down, not so much. These are the main ones purchased....
2005- 1st REAL show horse for DD1(8yo then). Colic/died 4 months later
2006- replacement for #1
2007- 1st REAL show horse for DD2(5yo then)
2008- husband horse to get hubs in the barn with us (didn't really work)
2008- 'fun' horse for DD2
2009- Mom gets a fast horse of her own, not just what's left
2011- Mom gets a replacement for DD1 taking over mom's 2009 horse
2013- Mom gets a replacement for DD2 taking over mom's 2011 fast horse
There were others in there and I actually sold one once. That didn't work either (for my heart) and I bought her back as soon as I could. With three of us riding, competing at different levels, the girls growing up and changing levels, horses passing, getting old or lame... I have to keep replenishing the stock.

How long have you had horse? Had it been in training before it came to you? Who with, when and what for? Who has competed on it other than you? Does it get hot tempered after working/running? Does it run poles? If not, do you think it could? Do you think the nerves could handle running more than once a day? (barrels and poles or double header rodeo) Is it willing and eager to work or just works because it's told to? How is it kept? stalled? turned out with others? Has it had any xrays, soundness issues, illnesses, injuries, etc? Has it had any drugs or chiro work done? Hocks? Stifles? Has it always been in Texas? Does it have any vices? (cribbing, chewing, pawing, gate issues, etc) I noticed your videos are from previous years. What has he been doing for the last 12 months? I am searching for the next horse for my daughter. She has three more years of high school and the current horse is aging out of being competitive at a rodeo level. Is this the type horse that would be responsive and respectful of a 95lb teenage girl? She's ridden all sizes and temps and works well with most all. We live in ________ but I've watched you on different horses over the years at some of the races. I have always admired your style of horse. What type of riding did you do before barrels? Location: mi | That isss aaaa loooottt of questions. But they are all pretty good questions so the response was pretty out of line. I would consider someone with that list a serious buyer that knows what they want. Answer what I could and go from there. No need to be rude. |

He could have just emailed her and told her to call him instead of being rude I think..
To me thats alot of questions to answer threw a email, but over the phone in a conversation not to many at all.
