Yes mam---Big Dutch was an awesome bull that sustained a leg injury Saturday and had to be put down that night. Pearl Harbor was leading the race for bull of the year, and Chad Berger (his owner) noticed either late last week or over the weekend that he was holding his neck funny. I believe it was diagnosed as a neck strain, but he died Tuesday from a blood clot near his brain. I love the bulls, and Pearl was my favorite. . . I was so upset when I read about it tonight, I cried. To lose those two great athletes in one week is unthinkable. Sean and I would sit each telecast talking about "my" bull (Pearl) vs "his" bull (Bruiser) because they were like .25 points difference in the champion bull race. Maybe it's weird being so emotional but I feel like I know them from being at the events live or watching them every weekend on tv. Truly they were both special animals. . . |

Location: Kansas | I have always followed and loved the PBR......until the imbalance of Brazilian bull riders over American bull riders The Brazilians are incredibly hard on these great bulls and aren't happy until they've agitated them to death in the chutes to take the fight out of them. Remember Stone Sober and Air Time. They are only a memory. I don't know how the stock contractors keep from strangling these Brazilians who just keep coming.
I didn't know about Pearl Harbor. That breaks my heart. What a great bull. |

Location: High heels in the air... | Frodo, Brazilian riders have nothing to do with hurting bulls...they are rules for all riders hence the chute timer and Spurs and ropes that are measured to a standard. The ground in front of the chutes has a tendency to get hard and fast thus injuring more bulls and riders. Air Time was retired early because of his high leaps and size landing on that ground. Stock contractors do not hate Brazilians. You are only as good as your competition. I am sorry you hate my Brazilian family... |

In the past we went to Oaklawn to the races every year. And every year at least one horse broke down each day we were there. The last time we went two horses broke down in the backstretch right in front of us in one race, and I told my friends I just couldn't keep going. I loved watching them but it just hurt my heart to see it. |

How funny that one if the best contractors Chad Berger, is such good friends with a lot of the Brazilians, maybe it's just that people from up north don't stick their nose quite as far up in the air as some of those from the south! I get so sick of listening to people cuss the Brazilians. I'm a fan of bull RIDING, so love a great ride, no matter who makes it! |

I don't own bulls (just a huge bull riding fan), but I kinda take offense at the "Southern" comment. |

I doubt the contractors have much choice but to accept Brazilian bull riders if they want to make a living hauling their bulls to PBR events. Why do you think, by the way, the use of the timer clock came about. I've heard these bulls bellowing in misery in the chutes while Silvano and Marchi purposely wait for the clock to come up and then wind down to one second before they call for the gate. It was the only way they could ride Stone Sober. Instead of bucking he hobby horsed around in circles.....that way they got their reride. |

That's my question---why do so many of them take SO long in the chute? Is it to wear the bulls down? It sure as crap irritates them. It's like the same ones make a practice of it weekly. And a few of them get disqualified because they don't even get out before the clock runs down. I don't get it. We saw one of the Brazilians (in LR) just get off when the clock got down to around 5 seconds. Another one (can't remember for the life of me which one) got mad and as the clock ran down he raked the bull across the head with his spur and stormed off. THAT didn't make it to the telecast, imagine. . . . |

It's a method and all the announcers from time to time make reference to it as does Shorty Gorham. Why sit there and aggravate when the bull is standing like a statue. I have an idea why these Brazilians are invading the PBR but that's a whole new subject. When I saw the standings for PBR yesterday evening and saw all the Brazilian flags I changed channels. |

| I guarantee they feel the same as we do. Not all of the Brazilians but there are some all contractors donβt like on their bulls. Nothing against them personally. We also have some of them come to our house. |
