I have a mare that is a sweetheart, but loses focus when riding at home. She’ll be afraid of a certain object or corner, even when ridden in the same arena every day. I’m struggling to tune on her when she’s not focused on me. Ideas for supplements that you have seen success with for calming or gaining focus?

Since you say that shes riden in the same arena or area every day and is scared of the same objects or corner I would make sure her eye sight is ok. Do you ride up to the ojects that shes scared of so she can see its not going to hurt her?

I actually do the opposite when one spooks or gawks at something. I keep riding past it as if I dont even know they spooked at it. If it is a banner hanging on the fence I go around and around the arena letting them spook at it each pass but riding them past it as if I didn't even notice them being worried about it. It seems the less of a production you make over it, the quicker they get over being afraid of it.

Sounds like to me this has been going on for awhile, I would have eyes checked and or ride up to the objects to see if this horse can see them since horse is spooking at same objects all the time. I do the same I just ride untill my horse stops being silly but if going on for awhile I would try to figure out why horse is still spooking after so many rides.

She will walk up and check out scary things, but will jump to the side every time I ride past. As soon as she decides something is scary, that’s all she is focused on, even on the opposite side of the arena. Looking for a supplement to help with this :)

I used B1 crumbles when I rode my one silly gelding, but he was not spooky just always on the go and get himself worked up.
Just wanted to add: Talk to Katie's about the Oxy-Gen products she may beable to help you out on the claming supplements.

Some horses just spook at stuff. I had a Fire water flit bred gelding that, even as a finished 1D horse, would flat spook at a BARREL if you went any speed other than at least a lope! If you tried to walk or trot a barrel pattern he would spook as if there was someone in it thats would eat him. Make a run and no spook!!!! Some horses are just " Looky". If they are working fine, I would not worry.

I would recommend TLC's Calm the Storm. Feed it every day. Magnesium and B1. Very economical. Message me for more info.

I put one like that to work right there.  Hey, pay attention to me...listen to me.  They may be bored and feel good to look at things or look for things to goof off...give them something to do right then.

I've had great luck with Mag Restore & they also have a product called Focus that is good. What has especially helped my nervous, spooky horse is the CBD alfalfa pellets.

Just saw this - CBD is the cannibus oil without the THC.  (Or, at least the GOOD companies will release their lab results so you can see there is no THC in them, an they are the purest you can get.)  I am a dealer for one company - Hope Botanicals.  I take them, my poor Corgi that has Degenerative Myelopathy (ALS in humans) take it and my one PSSM2 horse is on it.  (she gets the alfalfa pellets).  If you are interested, shoot me a msg.  There isn't much mark up on ours, but I could do a bit better price than the webpage since I do offer the discounts to BHW folks on products I carry.  The CBD is wonderful for any kind of pain or inflamation, and it also does well for anxiety.  It's getting hard to get product right now since there has been such a boom on it, so many using it.  It does not have the regulations that pot has because it does not have the THC in it (or it better NOT have, or a company can get busted - but that unfortunately has not stoppped some of them).
