              Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | How far apart are these pictures taken? That top picture is Bay, but the bottom picture says it could be Brown, Chestnut or Grulla.. are maybe Black.. Really hard to tell by that bottom picture, need a better picture.

| The first picture leaves no doubt in my mind that that baby is bay.
The second picture, on the other hand, leaves me not so sure. Is the mare in the background the dam? What color is the sire? From the dam I would guess chestnut, but if the sire is bay I believe bay is dominant to chestnut meaning the baby would be bay. |

 Location: Oklahoma | My 4 year old filly did this very thing.... She was bay as a baby and then as she got older she turned brown. In fact, I had to amend her papers last year as a 3 year old because when we did the papers she was def a bay.

| My guess would be brown. Color test would be most accurate and plus would let you know if Aa or AA. UC Davis is fairly cost effective and turn around is a few days after they get the hair sample. Grats on your foal! |

Color test won't tell you if she is bay or brown since genetically they are the same. (The way the color testing is at this time.)
