Location: Bastrop, Texas | Tahitian Noni is an excellent prototype of a snake oil scam.
It sounds exotic because it comes from a tree in Polynesia.
If it sounds exotic, people think it probably has some unique mystical powers. They claim it boosts immunity, accelerates healing, cures male pattern baldness, cures erectile dysfunction, improves liver and kidney function, increases energy, reverses aging, cures high blood pressure, cures cancer, detoxifies, and combats anxiety and depression. Add to that the ridiculous cost, and people figure it must be a good potient for that kind of money.
It costs about $2500 a year for a couple to take this elixir.
Plus, the fact that it has such an odious taste, for some reason people think it must be good stuff. The flavor closely resembles a mixture of fermented plum juice combined with aged blue cheese.
Here’s a nice promotional video that explains how you can get rich selling Noni:

Location: the end of the rainbow | I am currently 2 weeks into an expriment. I noticed a lot of local girls started feeding it & their horses really started to fire. I have a nice mare that runs a pretty pattern but she runs 3d every time & she is really kind of lazy to ride but gets exctided but not goofy at a race. She likes to run, she just doesn't run very fast with my fat butt on top of her (I don't really blame her). So.... ran a local race 2 weeks ago & she ran nice but didn't clockvery well (18.97 on a standard w/ a short score. fast time was 17.49). Started the noni & 2 weeks later in the same arena she ran at 16.90 on a slightly smaller pattern & the fast time of the race was a 19.97. Sooo. long story short - fast time got faster by 1/2 second. My time was faster by a full 2 seconds. She ran the same patter she always doees but fired harder. She also had more energy for shenanigans the 2nd week she was on it. She wasn't naughty, just a little froggier than normal. So we have another race at the same arena weekend after next that should be the same size pattern as last weekends & I'll see how that goes before I make a judgment call. Could have been the weather, the ground, the full moon, my lucky underwear or any other host of pieces falling into place.
I don't generally believe in these kind of supplements & I know my horse is on a fairly nutritionally sound diet but I figured I didn't have much to lose since the only thing I"m really looking for is a little more fire. We'll see how I really feel about the stuff when we get down to the end of the bottle.
FYI - no other diet changes & she is only getting 1 pump a day, not the 2 that the manufacturer recommends. |

Same here I fed 1 oz of the gold label because my horses were already on a joint supp. I felt like my horse just had a little more pep. My mare would pump it and lick it from the jug. Its some nasty stuff but she loved it lol I stopped feeding it because I wanted to feed other stuff. It also sat all winter and got moldy and nasty. That kind of turned me off too. There are probably bigger wastes of money out there. |

Location: Desert Land | It was all the hype around here a few years ago and some of the big names were touting on about it. I think it was Morinda Care first and then one of those guys split off and made F1? Anyhow, I got caught up in the hype and bought 2 cases (8 bottles) so I could give it a solid try. A couple of my horses wouldn't eat their grain that had F1 on it, but most had no issue eating it - I just didn't see any benefit to it. |

Don’t understand the moldy comment. It has no preservatives in it. It may have gotten old. Was it hot where you had it?
No it was winter and was stored room temp. I think the smell was off when I first opened it, but it kinda smells funky anyways so I didn't think much of it. Then when I got it back out to feed I knew something was off. It had this huge clump of mold in it when I poured it out. So I think it was bad from the get go. I know it has no preservatives-hence why it went bad. I mostly just meant after seeing the grossness that can happen when it goes bad, it kind of disinterested me. You could get a bad jug of it and not know pretty easy. |
