So I did a practice run this morning to get ready for a Memorial Day Barrel Race this week and my horse ended up falling really hard at the third Barrel and fell on my left leg and I thought he was going to go over me but somehow he was able to get all four of his feet underneath him. As he was rising up I kept slowly saying "woah" because I thought he was going to take off and he was such a good boy! He just stood there calm and relaxed and I am so grateful for him! I'm so glad I can trust this horse when it really counts.

Is this the same horse that was crossfiring with you? Was the ground bad? If he wasn’t sore before he may be now.

Yeah he's definitely going to be sore. Yes, same horse. I don't know if it's related, could be, but he hasn't done the crossfiring for the last two rides. He also has never crossfired during a run. It does make me wonder though.

The reason I asked is that my old mare Casey nearly went down going into first one time. Took her to the vet, her coffin joint was dry. I had been injecting it regularly but I guess it wasn’t lasting. She was stoic but that one run hurt and she gave on that foot. I retired her. Just something for you to keep an eye on-

When I first got Dan, he went down with me in my friend's round pen. My leg (prosthetic one) was hung in the saddle, but my good as gold guy laid there til I wiggled loose before he got up. Then my mare slid down on a trail ride on the side of a ditch, and she did the same thing--laid there til Sean could get off his horse and help me get up. God has blessed me with the perfect horses for my situation.

So glad you and your guy are ok
