According to my horse, Dutton snaffle bits are the bomb, lol. He actually opens his mouth on his own to accept the bit, but if I trick him with a different brand, he won’t open his mouth willingly the next time.

Do you want a D or O ring snaffle or a shanked bit with a snaffle mouth piece?

Something like this, but a good brand. Owner says she rides him in an o ring, smooth mouth.

Theres more then a few good ones out there, heres some... Greg Dutton like GLP mentioned on here, Tom Balding, Myler, these are just a few that I can think of right off the top of my head/brain. Google these, kinda pricey but worth it if you want quilty.

Thank you! I will google those! I want quality, not junk! Looks like Dutton does not make an O ring smooth snaffle..I'm looking on Tom Balding's website, is a loosering the same thing as an 0 ring? I'm so confused

Hmm, I know he makes a 3 piece dog bone smooth mouth in the loose ring, but I don’t use the 2 piece so I am no help there. I would be surprised if he didn’t, but there several really good bit makers that do.

Go to South Texas Tack's web site, I found a Loose ring Snaffle by Tom Balding and a Dutton Loose ring.
The top one is a Tom Balding and the bottom one is a Dutton.

My horses love Sprenger snaffles. They can be kind of pricey depending on what model you get. But they are worth it

The only 2 snaffels I use anymore are #1 an egg butt by JWP (Jeremiah Watt) and a o ring with the tube from the mouth pice over the ring by Greg Darnell. Though since he sold his line the new ones don't have the same weight and feel so I have an extra I hardly use because its just not the same

Do you want a D or O ring snaffle or a shanked bit with a snaffle mouth piece?Β Β

If a bit has shanks, it's not a snaffle, regardless of mouth piece
