| I’m about 20 miles from the Idywild one but they have it pretty much contained. The CARR fire in northern CA is super bad. This place is always on fire! |

Looks like all of California is going to burn up, and they were saying on the news that this is not even the peak season for the fires yet, I was thinking holy moly how much more of a peak season can it get!! |

Not derailing this thread at all, I havent seen Only The Brave but have heard its a very well made true story {movie} in honor of the firefighters that lost their lives. They were the firefighters of the Granite Mountain Hotshots that lost their lives in the Yarnell Hill fire in Arizona on June 30, 2013. Fire fighters sure are a special group of men and women, not a life for everyone.

| Prayers from Kansas. We know only too well how devastating these fires can be. Entire family ranches are wiped out as well as communities and grasslands. So sad. |

| We haven’t seen blue sky in days due to the smoke. These fires are completely devastating. I keep praying that someone in a position of power will start to ask why there is so much fuel being allowed to remain on public lands when we could be utilizing the trees and vegetation. We need to increase grazing numbers and harvesting timber so these fires don’t run out of control. Life lost and millions of acres blackened is not ok and it’s not working. We can do better at managing the land than allowing everything to burn. |

Most of these areas are brush covered hills with scattered oaks. They burn like gasoline. Years ago the state did a lot of control burning in the winter. They don’t do that much anymore. I think animals are being evacuated to Cottonwood and Red Bluff. We are checking to send hay where it is best needed. Between that fire, and the ones near Clear Lake there is a lot of help needed. |
