What is everyone's experience with them? I just got a gelding out of Streak and Dash and a Royal Quick Dash mare on bottom. He is very laid back at home and loves to please. He gets a little excited when somewhere new but he's only 4. I'm VERY happy with him so far but just want to hear anyone else's experience with Streakin La Jolla or Royal Quick Dash horses. Thanks!

I have a 7 yr old own son o/o a three bars bred mare. He is quite and laid back, almost to the point of being lazy. But only after 5 months of running (we only get to maybe 3 races a month) he is running top/bottom of the 2d against tough tx/ok horses. He gives me the same run every time. He is mr consistent. Quite enough my 2 yr old can ride with me when I warm up or cool down. Hoping he makes a rodeo horse. Havent found an ground that he hasnt stood up on yet and not much bothers him.
Now with all the good being said he is quirky about some things. He came very very cinchy and even though he has gotten better I dont know that he will ever get over it. He hates being wormed and is not one you can run wo a good warm up. Yes he warms up quite but he is not afraid to kick his heels up if he is fresh bc I didnt give him a good warm up before we go make a run

I have had a couple grandsons both so quiet and calm and easy to start. We still have the 2yr old and he takes everything in stride so far of course we are not pushing him just starting ground work. I also ride a granddaughter of Royal Quick Dash she is amazingly talented she has a lot of go but is smart, willing, and loves her job.

Mine was off the track, got him as a 4-yr old. It took a long time for him to mature but he turned into a REAL nice barrel horse! He is now in his 20s and is winning the Pee Wee's! He never had any soundness issues. I would take another in a heart beat.

I have a Special Effort mare out of a Streakin La Jolla daughter. She is a real pleaser. Gives 110% but wants to give it her way. I've learned to not fuss with her and let her be - helps us both stay happier :) She is on the hot side but she is all business so it doesn't bother me. I would relate that to the Special Effort though as other SE's I've rode have been hot.

I have a 9yr old son o/o a Dash for Cash daughter. He came off the track, won about 80k. He can be lazy, never had a problem slowing him down coming from the track. Very smart, very athletic, and just a dream to be around. His only down fall is that he has this "here for the party" type attitude when we go places. I keep thinking that he'll get over it but I just think he likes the attention and all eyes on him. Once you start working him(a good 15-20min) however and make a run he gets back to business.

We've used him to move cattle and he acts like he wants to be cowy. We've not roped off him yet but I see it coming.

Mine's the same way, I call it his "hold my beer and watch this" mode.

I've loved every Streakin La Jolla bred horse I've owned, and I've owned several. They're quiet, user friendly and deceivingly fast.

The one we had was very laid back but he was all business. We adored him. He won a lot for us, and the girl who bought him from us. And now at age 19 he's still winning with another young girl. I would love to have 10 just like him.
