Location: IL | So I am new to the treeless saddles. I bought a Bob Marshall original, and I am starting to like it, a lot! I need a new saddle pad and I have a couple concerns....My mare has a decent wither and I want a pad that will not put pressure on her withers. My bob Marshall is not peaked, but doesn't seem to sit on her wither either. I've heard really good things about the CSI pad, but I just see that they are pretty thick. I was looking into Saddleright and their pads have a wither clearance. What do you guys prefer?? I also want to make sure that the pads cover the dropped rigging, so I know I will need a longer pad in the barrel area. What length is good? Thanks |

Location: Illinois | I love my CSI pads, I can't comment on Saddlerights. One of my CSI pads is a total of 3/4" thick and the other is 1" thick. They do take a little bit to break in, they are a bit stiff in the wither area brand new. I have enough room in my gullet I can still keep it off and oiling the leather seemed to help my new one soften up a little faster. Usually after about 20-30 rides it fits like a glove. And the interchangeable/reversible liner is super convenient. My first one was just retired a week ago after nearly 6 years of use as my main pad for my horse. Unfortunately they changed the design of the air holes on the spine so I can't get a new liner for it as the holes won't match up and I'd like to keep that airflow. I purchased a barely used one off of a good friend because it ended up being the wrong cut for her saddle, so I'm going to just order the 1/2" liner and just change out the liners for each horse. I've never had a pad last as long as this one did and it would probably still be fine for light riding or trails or something, but I felt it needed retired as my daily user. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | I have both pads and prefer the saddleright with a treeless for most horses. My saddleright is 20 years old and still in excellent condition |

Location: MN | Saddleright hands down for my treeless. If I go any thicker, it rolls like crazy! My horse is super round though. |

Right now I am using the CSI on my 3 yo with a treed saddle. Once he gets used to a BM and has filled out more I will also change him over to a Saddleright.
ETA, my Saddlerights are all 32" long (I like to see some pad in front of and behind my saddle) and either 31" or 32" wide which work great for the rigging on my BM's.
Now I do use a Back on Track pad as a liner under every pad I use, just because they are easier to clean.

Location: CTX | I measured 1 of my pads and it is 32” wide and 32” long. As you can see in the pic it is long enough to keep the rigging from the horses side. The saddle is a 16” BM.
