OT but when life is overwhelming and you feel like you have so much to do, how do you stay sane and keep a positive attitude? I used to be great at this but am having some trouble now. Some things I'm going to do to help are:
-Start working out regularly in the AM so my day starts out on a good note and I feel better
-Read my daily devotionals more
-Think calm thoughts

What do you all do?

I go out in the pasture where no one will see or hear and scream/throw a big fat fit for 20 or 30 seconds, have a little cry if tears come and then ask God to lift the weight off my shoulders. Then I remember all the blessing God sent my way. Usually works. If it doesn’t I think about how stupid I just looked and I laugh at myself.
I find turning the radio off and just thinking about what is going on and praying that God help me find my way helps the most, but about once a year, the fit helps the most.

I hit the point where there was so much coming at me that I just wanted to lay in bed and hide from it. So that's exactly what I did for a day, I let myself be a vegetable on the couch for a whole day. I have also been sick for 3 weeks, so it was needed. Had I not been sick I don't think I would have done it. But Saturday we had a random super cold day, in the 50s, so I just let myself stay in the house doing nothing. I feel a lot better mentally & physically. Otherwise I just take some time in each day for me time, to do nothing. Even if it's just 15 minutes. There's a few fall shows premiering right now that I've been taking time to watch. That helps too. Otherwise I don't know about things to do. When the bad stuff comes or 100 things get piled on my plate at this point I'm just like ok. It doesn't stress me out like it used to because it's become so common now that I don't even react to it.

Try to control what you can, don't put so much pressure on yourself, don't sweat the small stuff...

surround yourself with positive people. Do one thing at a time and ask for help if needed. Remember that sometimes you can't do it all and you'll need to "triage" your tasks. Allow yourself some grace. Also, a lot of praying and truly giving the cross for Jesus to bear. I also make a conscience choice to choose being positive over negative and hold myself accountable to it.

Rachel Hollis provides a lot of positive insight on this exact topic. She has a book out that I loved call Girl, Wash Your Face; but she has lots of free resources available too like podcasts, videos, super motivational instagram.

First you have to realize you cannot do it all.  Pray a lot and do not sweat the small stuff.

I try to pick out a couple things that are my top priorities for the day and make sure I get those done. If I try to tackle an entire "to do list" in one day, I'll go crazy so I don't even try. So much of the stuff that stresses us out is "small stuff," so I am really trying to not sweat those things anymore. It's hard but staying busy really helps me keep from getting overwhelmed with all the things I need/want to do.
