I’m still really confused by some of the rules. I thought that if a stallion sold, they were still PB if the stallions new owner wanted them to be? But now I’m seeing that Eddie Stinson and Born Ta Be Famous are no longer eligible according to their new owners. So does that mean any Eddie or BTBF foals prior to those foaled in 2019 are still PB eligible? And all those after 2019 aren’t?

So what happens if they get into the program again down the road? Are all get eligible then? Or just the ones prior to 2019 and then those after they get back in with a gap on ineligible ones?

Only those grandfathered in or were conceived in 2018 are eligible at this point.  The owner owns the slot, not the stallion.  Very interesting that some are starting to pull out already.  Alan Woodbury had a post infering that Tres Seis will be added in 2019.  I wonder how pink buckle is going to pick who to add from the waiting list.

Where is the additional "guaranteed" $500k coming from?

Guess my confusion was that it was published and said in a video when the two sold that the PB nominations were going with them. Now it appears that must have fallen through?

I think Danny must have paid them in before the sale.

Don't exactly know why you would think this is a cluster? There are the 40 original stallions from last year. The Slots are owned by the Slot owner and if a stallion sells they can go with the stallion or the owner can keep for another one of their own stallions. It is up to the slot owner.

Every stallion owner signed a contract that states that there can never be more then 50 stallions in the program. The reason Tres Seis is coming in is because they are adding a few more stallions this year.

I Think there are over 50 stallions on the waiting list so the program is thriving!

The way they get the additional $500,000 is from the foal nominations.

There are 2000 foals signed up so far this year. That is $400,000. Next year 90% of those will sign up again plus all of the new weanlings. This program has the potential to grow a lot. Especial when there are 6 or 7 years of foals all paying in each year.

The 2018 Pink Buckle was an A+ event. The ground was great! They drug on 3. The atmosphere was exhibitor friendly and the awards where fantastic! They said they where going to pay a million dollars and they did. Matter of fact they went home with the checks in hand.

I'm happy to answer any other questions anyone might have!

maybe Tres Seis was way up on the waiting list Is the waiting list public anywhere?

I don't think it is public.  He probably was near the top.  I can also see where they might wan't some of the big money stallions like tres seis to add stability and clout to the program.

This has probably been answered but if a stud is added this year do his older offspring get grandfathered in?

There are currently 34 stallions ahead of Ivory James on the waiting list for anyone wondering. People can sell their spot on the waiting list if they wish to do so....this is sometimes why many ppl think that the FF are "picking who they want or blah blah." No ppl pay extra money for a spot that belonged to someone else on the list, that someone was smart enough to realize that selling their spot was probably a better business decision than trying to prove their stud lol

I believe this year was the only year older offspring could be grandfathered in... after this year the horse must be nominated as a foal to be eligible.

The way I figure, they can easily pay out 1.5 million next year.  Looks like they grossed over that for 2018
260 entries at $500                   = $130k
2,000 nominations at $200    = $400k
 40 stallions at $25k                  = $1,000k
Total                                             = $1.53 million
This doesn't even include late nominations at $300 or amateur entries.  However also doesn't include advertising, arena rental and event costs.
2019 "should" gross more than that with more stallions and entries

The whole deal with Eddie Stinson and Born ta be Famous does kinda make the program seem a little shady.  I'm guessing Victory Farms was upset the stallions were moved and no longer standing with them, so they withheld the Pink Buckle slots.  Just kinda bad business dealings that are outside of Pink Buckle

Or Danny Ray withheld the spots and then the owners of Eddie Stinson and BTBF moved the studs after that. We don't exactly know what went down.

which is why I said I'm guessing
the stallions were publicly moved and then the PB spots were publicly changed
really not sure why it happened and I'm sure I never will

honestly doesn't really affect me

I believe this year was the only year older offspring could be grandfathered in... after this year the horse must be nominated as a foal to be eligible.

So, retorical question - if I have a horse by a PB stallion who i thought about nominating this year and running in the open race, but didn’t (let’s say the dates conflicted with something already planned)...I’m SOL for all future years because I didn’t pay in this year? Was that advertised?

I don’t have a PB horse, so this truly is retorical out of curiosity.

How does it work moving forward for the people that nominated their Eddie Stinsons and Born To Be Famous offspring ????? Now that they are no longer in the program.

I saw on a FB post that the farm is now offering their own incentive program on Born to Be Famous and Eddie Stinson. Don't recall the exact details. They say they were promised the spots for the two studs and it fell through. They came up with their own program based on something people do in the cutting industry (their words--not mine).
