What are all you guys doing for a saddle for a small child, that still fits a big horse decently? My daughter will be 3 next year and I'd love to get her saddle. (she's nuts about the horses)   I only have full size QH's so anything with a really small seat size is usually meant for a pony or mini. Of course, she's barely 30 pounds currrently but I feel like I have worked so hard to have good-fitting saddles for each of my horses, I want to try to do the same for whatever I can find for her, even though she won't have much weight on their back.

It seems like a 10" seat size seems to be the smallest I've found that might still be able to be made on a semi- or full- QH tree?

I know Corriente makes youth saddles.
I've seen some Double T saddles on Ebay (although I know those are on the junk spectrum....)

Any other brands you recommend?

NRS has quality youth saddles (10-12” seats) and price isn’t that bad.

The Corriente are nice for the price and fit a horse nicely. Plus they really hold their value when she outgrows it.
The girl my mom hauls has been running in a youth Corriente she won several years ago and it's still in nice shape and doesn't sore her horse. My nephew's little saddle is also a Corriente I believe.

Bob McKinney at McKinney Western in Marion, Ill carries a 12 in (maybe smaller) Circle Y that is really nice. I purchased one for my son when he was 3 and he used it until he was 16 or so but he was and is still really skinny. When he was little we took the finders off and used Leather belt for his finders to make the stirrups short enough. We put them back on as he got taller. They do cost the same as a 15 inch seat but are well worth it.

We put our daughter in a 10" Corriente and then a seat shrinker when she was 3.
She is 7 now and still riding in it.

We borrowed a 10" Corriente Buckaroo from a friend, and now have a 10" Tesky's Buckaroo and both have fit everything from a 12hh hackney pony to a 16.1hh head horse that weighed in at 1350#. I did try to find one with a little bit wider gullet...both are built on a tree with a 6.5" gullet. I was told I will not find one without going to a bigger seat, so I bought a CSI show cut pad to use under it.
