| Now disclaimer, I am not in any way wanting this to turn into anything negative about the red horse rearing up. But I noticed that the girls seem to switch mounts afterwards. Easily could be due to wanting them to have a mental break or whatever (personal choice) but I saw someone else ask and I am curious. Are they fined or is there a rule in place if a horse acts up in the alley??
Again, horses can get hot and I am in no way shaming anyone. Pure curiosity. |

| I don't think they are fined for acting up, but they can't be refusing the arena or taking too long to start or they probably get fined. If you ever watch videos from years past, there have been a few want to refuse the arena and run back up the alley. There are gates they can shut behind them to prevent that and hustle them into the arena. |

Yeah I have noticed the setup and figured they have a certain amount of time. I can just think of like 3 or 4 "incidents" over the past several years where horses acted up and the next night they were on different horses. I just assumed it was due to personal choice which it may be but when someone brought up a fine, I then got curious as I had really never thought much about it. |

Pure Victory Dash. She won the 2008 BBR World Finals and BFA Futurity with Angie Grandpre. |

| That red horse is only 6. I’d chalk the alley issue up to being young and the fact that those horses have to stay lined up for so long. That situation just creates a ticking time bomb with those animals. Some handle it, some explode. Imagine loading race horses in a starting gate and making them stand forever. That’s basically the alley set up at the NFR. |

I thought (this is how rumors got started) Sydney had to get off of her until the last round after she was so bad in the alley. Last round she was the last one and they had her blocked off from everyone else. It's been so long I might've made that up. |

Yeah I'm not worried about why the red horse did it. I agree. It's a lot of anticipation and tight quarters.
Just thought maybe one of our guru's knew if there was a rule and/or fine since I have noticed a trend but it very well may be just a personal choice. |

Location: Where the buffalo roam | Yes - the powers that be will tell a barrel racer to get off a horse that can become a danger in the alley way to herself or others. It happend to someone in 1992. They had to go on their backup horse the rest of the NFR. This was directly from the person it happened to.
If I remember correctly, when they first moved the NFR to Vegas they actually ran in and out the same alley way, but there was a pretty bad wreck up at the top (the horse coming out ran into one at the top) and that is when they moved it to coming in that gate. |

I don't actually think Taci owns Smash... the last interview I saw with Taci, she only rides Smash but maybe that has changed. But yes he did/does belong to Tammy. They have a pretty cool interview on youtube.
