Location: Idaho | So this might be a dumb question... we are flying down to Dallas to buy a truck, then we are driving to Cleburne to pick up a trailer. We are from Idaho and clearly haven't done enough travelling in big areas as we know nothing about toll roads. Is it worth it to travel on roads that aren't toll roads? Or just get the toll tag to get out of the state? Or do the electric tolls? Honestly, I know nothing about how they work. Any tips would be helpful! Thanks!!! |

Location: Texas!! | Will the trailer have paper plates also? Some toll roads take a picture of the back license plate and some take a picture of the front. I personally would call one of the toll road authorities. There are several, we use TxTag on our personal vehicles, but we had lots of issues with them on our 18 wheelers, so we use HCTRA for our business. Another one is NTTA and I think there is one more, but if you are registered with one of them you can drive on all the toll roads in Texas. |

Provided I am not mistaken, TxTag and NTTA are one and the same...................... |

Location: Texas!! | Yes, they are different. NTTA is out of Dallas, HCTRA is out of Houston and TxTag is out of Austin. There may be another one. But if you have a sticker with any one of them you can drive on all the toll roads. |

Location: Idaho | Is it worth getting a tag for the short time we are there? We won't have license plates on anything so I'm not sure how the mail in option would work. The toll road system is crazy to me ?? |

Location: Arkansas | My family goes thru TX usually 2 or 3 times a year. They always mailed us ours in the mail, but we didn't have the "no tags" issue. I'd call the TX authorities and ask so you're in compliance. Congratulations and enjoy your trip!! |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | I'm suggesting too to just drive threw, if the tags are under the dealerships name the bill will go to them and then they can forwarded the bill to you, but since you are buying this truck brand new I would think the dealership would just pay for the toll bill. |

| Just drive them if you have to, but you can also avoid toll roads. Shoot some days the toll roads are more backed up then the others!!!! I drive through Dallas every day to get to work so I am quite familiar with the traffic patterns. But give me Dallas to drive through any day over Houston!
Congrats on your new purchases!!!! |

I personally wouldn't mess with it, I'd just take my chances with the paper tags |

How does that work? In Kansas our tags are on the back of vehicles and trailer doesn't have a tag so they wouldn't have any idea who to send tolls to. |
