In December, my horse fell at the second barrel and slid close to 14 feet and into the wall. In the process, my foot was broken. I have not been able to ride him since. I am assuming when I am ready to run barrels again, he will need confidence and will be nervous to run again.
What have you done to get your horses confidence back at races? Time onlies for awhile? enter the race and let him cruise his own speed?
I appreciate all your feed back.
Thank you

When mine fell and broke my foot it wasn't the horses confidence that I needed to get back.  Never in a million years would I have thought that I would lose my confidence BUT the first time he slipped with me after I got hurt I just pretty much froze.  It didn't bother my horse at all though.
