| I'm curious how many on here carry? I'm getting ready to go practice and test for mine through a womens shooting league this week. I've shot plenty of times out here just target practice on our old dirt pile and I pretty much suck lol! So I'm hoping these ladies can help me out! I'm a tad nervous to be honest. But from what I've been told the ladies are all awesome and the woman who puts it on is a police officer wanting to educate as many women as possible. Wish me luck!! |

Location: Kentucky | I went to a concealed carry class and got certified. I just haven't sent in for my card. I do open carry some. Shooting is addictive! I always have a gun in the truck when I haul. |

I agree, we really have to pay attention to our surroundings at all times. When we go out to eat I like having to beable to watch the door to see what/who comes in.. So protecting ourselfs is a very smart move. |

Location: CTX | We both got our permit years ago and I carry most of the time. the only time I don’t carry is when I go to work. Seems weird, but working on a military installation we are not allowed to carry weapons.... I always have pepperspray and a taser in the truck along with a baseball bat... someone wants to hurt me, they darn sure are going to have a fight on their hands... and like someone else said, in a restaurant I try to keep my back to the wall, and sit where I can see the door. Go get your license and find yourself a nice little handgun that you are comfortable handling. I have a 9mm auto and a 38special revolver that I can carry concealed, but prefer the 38s. If I get in a pickle I want to make sure my weapon doesn’t jam... so the revolver it is. I honestly feel naked now when I leave the house without it. I hope that I will never have to use it, but would not want to be caught without... |

Location: Kansas | In the community where I live I really don't think very many people feel theatened. I don't. However, with the influx of illegals things are beginning to change with way more frequent shootings in the north end of Wichita where they hang out which is also the ghetto area. The border situation is a crisis. Once they cross the border they can go any place they want to by bus and we're seeing more and more of them in our local stores. Please folks, don't practice shooting around your neighbor's homes. If ever I feel the urge to kill, it's because of someone shooting near or at my home. It's perfectly legal in our county but it's still wrong.

We always thought our little community of Sutherland Springs Texas was a quite and safe place to live and go to church, untill a crazy man shot and killed 26 and injured 20 during Sunday service in a small church.. Who would have ever thought something like this would ever happen in Sutherland Springs..

Location: NW MT | I've had my concealed permit for several years. I just wish ALL states would get on board with recognizing/accepting other states permits. Many states out west in particular allow open carry but most require your permit for concealed. |

At our local grocery store, a young man came in one day with a very large gun attached to the front of his belt. It wasn't in a holster of any kind, just attached like you would a cell phone on the side of your belt. I had no idea whether this was legal or not but it looked a bit scary. |

Location: Kentucky | Frodo, That is open carry. Most who open carry are the good guys. The bad guys don't want you to know they have it until they use it. And that not saying legal concealed carriers are bad! |

I understand. It was just something you never ever saw in the area where we live particularly in a public place. A co-worker is married to a cop and he explained that if there's a holdup the guy with the open carry weapon is going to be the first one shot if the bad guy has the advantage or if he had very little intention of actually shooting anyone. Concealed sounds way smarter.

Location: Kentucky | But at the same time, open carry tends to make the bad guy think twice before he actually does the crime. |

Location: Arkansas | Little off thread, but. . . . Sean went to a new doctor last week about a discogram (spelling??) for his back, and the doctor's clock in the procedure room was about support for the 2nd amendment. He also had a Bible in his exam room. We liked him immensely, not only for his demeanour and attitude, by for the things he stands for! |

| I'm not going to open carry. I bought a purse that has a compartment for a handgun. That's how I'm going to roll anyway. And im going to have my hubby install a clip to hold my gun under my steering wheel in my pickup. I travel alone, a lot. Open carry doesnt bother me it's just not what I want to do. I've seen plenty around town that open carry. |
