Is this conversation really being discussed in this day and age!?!? There have been men involved in barrel racing since ---- One Certain Male barrel racers wife-- FLORANCE!-came up w the concept (w/ friends) in my home town of San Angelo, Texas, in 1948!!!! And a certain stigma, someone is pertaining to about how male barrel racers, are perceived or LABELED in Texas, is nothing but a bunch of ignorant SOB's(and their wives) idiot opinions!!! I'm from Texas and I'm One of Those Male Barrel Racers that grew up w/ that insanely moranic way of thinking all around me!!!! This being discussed on here and even given the time of day, is a step backwards bigger than 10 of you could make together. Should anyone care to PM me to cut through the BS on this OLD, UGLY and TIRED issue, feel free !!!!!

No where in that original thread was there any mention of it being wrong or bad, only that sometimes it has a stigma attached. I think you went a little overboard on this post. Nobody said men shouldn't chase cans. I'm a guy to, and My mom went to the NFR 6x.. She was my biggest critic for training and running barrels. But didn't take her long and she was fully supportive.

LOL - what a response PBC.

I just wish my son would find a single male trainer, so his momma can get her horses trained for free.

Why were you so offended, nothing was said negative about male/men barrel racers. Just a innocent question being asked by a young man and being answered by us that have been around for a long time. Dont be attacking us because you have a chip on your shoulder..

WOW ..... Pretty Boy ...... you are not being very "pretty".

In case you haven't been around the world, there are plenty of STATES in the U.S. that really DON'T have that many men barrel racers .... and perhaps, that is where the question comes from the young man on the other thread. I read through all of those posts and NO WHERE was there ever a disparaging remark regarding "men" barrel racers.  YOU, sir, are the ONLY one making rude and obnoxious remarks and giving men barrel racers a bad image ......

No where on the other post did Bear indicate that anyone was talking about every male being homosexual, as you are insinuating.  He did insinuate that there were rumors around males in TX.

Maybe there is a stigma. Maybe the rumors fly. Maybe some of the males are gay. Most probably aren't, beats me. Never seen a survery because guess what??
Who gives a rats patootie about it??  You are obviously butt-hurt about it and I'm sorry.   You obviously aren't butt-hurt enough to stop barrel racing, So what's the prob?  Be a bigger competitor and let the rumors fly.  Go jump on the nearest lot lizard - buckle bunny - to prove your manhood and strong heterosexual tendencies.

Pretty Boy since you are a gay man that loves to barrel race, why in the heck did the other thread about male barrel racers get you all fired up? There was no bashing no name calling just a normal everyday conversation untill you threw a fit, there was no LABELED mentioned at all, so what gives? Why did you bring it up? NO BS going on here at all untill you came along..

I wasn't going to even get back on here, as I felt, after reading some of the comments made by some, and went back and re-read what I had evidently misunderstood and taken way wrong, that I had gone way too far in flying off the handle and came across like the idiots I grew up hearing. But you know what, first of all I apologize to the young person who brought this up, it was'nt until the comments about the stigma that goes w being a guy that runs barrels in Texas, were mentioned that my head began to spin! Because I experienced that first hand before I was old enough to understand anything except that I loved barrel racing and it's all I was gonna ever wanna do! But w that said, the stigma that I experienced in Texas came from grown people or their kids, and it's born out of hate, and you can't tell me it wasn't unless you were that lil boy who just wanted to run barrels!!! At that time people were suing the WPRA trying to get guys in to run and all that, and you all know the "GAY" thing was thrown in just for a good ole boy chuckle! I'm the Gay man, who was that child experiencing grown people making snide remarks, and giggling, etc. at him. As I got older the chip on my shoulder did get bigger, as you see it's still being worked on, but I can guarantee you there is a lil boy or girl that may read this out there now that should not have to go through or even have to hear the ignorance that once was! I know who what and why I am, and I'm proud of that. I just thought things were classier than 35-40 yrs ago, I know I'm trying to be so I'm gonna apologize again to the youngster who just asked a question, and for my initial response, but I'm not responding purposely to the comments some have made towards me, because I don't wanna be banned from this site, but trust and believe I'm still a work in progress, and Pretty is as Pretty does. God Bless.

How awesome of you to apologize and I apologize to you too.. The young man that asked about male barrel racers is a really awesome trick rider, theres some really cool videos of him, I think hes just asking about male barrels racers is that he rides at alot of rodeos and dont really see men running barrels and hes been wanting to barrel race himself. I think he would be really good at it hes got the balance for it for sure, lol..If you would like his name so you can see some of his videos pm me and I will give it to you.. Hes very proud of his trick riding and he should be..
