| On the advice of the Bluebonnet nutrition rep I'm taking a leap of faith and going grain free! My horses have been eating mostly hayrite alfalfa cubes and just about a lb and a 1/2 of BB natural blend. For some odd reason they started leaving a lot of the grain in their feed buckets and would just push it around to eat the alfalfa cubes. Looking at the info on the BB NB it's one of their highest starch feeds, my horses dont have any metabolic issues or health issues but we decided to get away from that all together and I only had about a half a bag left anyway. I will throw it to my chickens, they love it lol! BB was so helpful and really took the time to give me a quick education on protein and NSC levels. My horses are admittedly on the plumper side right now. I picked up 2 bags of the TC 30 today. I was told my horses only need about 1lb PER DAY of this stuff to get all their daily vitamins and minerals. She said to keep on with the alfalfa cubes as well for extra calories, adjust the cubes as needed. Has anyone ever tried this ration balancer before? I gave each horse a handful when I got home and unloaded feed, because that's just what's expected of me when I drive my pickup back to the barn to unload feed lol! Only my old man wasnt too e cried about it at first! It was like a kid trying kale for the first time... my other 2 boys gobbled it right up and were looking for more. I'm really hoping this works out for me. I love the logic behind it and my boys are doing great on the hayrite. Slick and shiny and have noticed mane and tail growth as well. I also feed a scoop of platinum so I'm wondering if I can do away from that since the TC has everything covered. I hate to stop platinum because they sent me a 25lb pail recently and I want to use it up! Plus I love the company and the supplement. |

| I shouldn't complain but our pastures have taken off and those hogs would love nothing more than to be turned out all day and night lol! I literally have to go catch them now to bring them in and theyll run from me. Makes me so mad! I have to limit their turnout time now. I know I should feel happy I have extremely easy keepers and bountiful pasture but they take it to the extreme lol! |

| I feed TC 30 and plan to stay on it! Im really happy with how my horses look. My only suggestion would be to test your forage and adjust accordingly. Our hay differs greatly in selenium, so each squeeze I get it tested and have to adjust the TC. |

| Yes mine are making major ugly faces at each other right now in their stalls because I haven't turned them out yet. My next door neighbors have same type of pasture coming in, we use the same farrier, he told me one of her horses is beginning early signs of laminitis and can barely walk .. they have her stalled up now. This grass comes up with a vengeance.. unfortunately they get a lot of clover on their side .. guess that's what got the mare |

Location: Slipping down the slope of old age. Boo hoo. | I switched to a ration balancer about a year ago for my mare. She has a good pasture -- and hay to nibble when she comes inside. She looks fabulous. She gets 1 pound a day (1/2 morning; 1/2 evening). I plan to switch my gelding to the ration balancer this summer. I have always believed in a forage-based diet and the ration balancer allows me to do that and assure my horses are getting all the required nutrients. My mare's coat is sparkly shiney and her hooves have improved. I'm sold on it. The switch has certainly cut my feed bill.... |

That's what I'm hoping for, to ease up my feed bill! She suggested giving my old fat man just a half pound a day .. hes really really overweight and super duper easy keeper and just pasture ornament. So I'll be feeding only 2 1/2lbs of it per day. |

| I have my mare on TC30 (the horse in my pic) because she’s such an easy keeper, and I feed good hay. My other horses are on Ultium Gastric Care. They all get flax. I’ve been happy with the TC30, but I did notice yesterday that my other 3 are already dappled this spring, and that mare is not. But all of them are at a good weight. |

That's the thing, my horses look really good but are too fat! My pally is darkening up and full of dapples .. I'm really hoping they stay looking good on the TC they are going from a 10% fat feed to a 3% fat ration balancer... I always thought fat made them sparkle lol! I'm going to take pics of them today and do a comparison in a few months . I always liked the ultium too for them. I guess I can always add in some Renew Gold for extra fat if I think its needed. |

Location: Montana | We have fed 1 # per horse TC Balancer 30 since Nov 2018. That plus good grass/alfalfa hay (nothing else) and they all look great. Slick with shine (in Montana) and good physical condition with calm attitude. The yearlings are looking very mature and sleek.

Location: NW MT | Two of my mares are on TC30 & have been since diagnosis of PSSM2 variants. It was a game changer on both. It has the higher protein & the tri aminos they need for the disease. I had the one on RG prior to her being symptomatic (or being diagnosed) and she started tying up on me. (prior to that, she was on rolled barley for years). It was the ONLY thing that changed in her life, so took her off it immediately, switched her to the TC30 the other one was getting. They both do great on it. |

I'm using it on my older geldings that needed a little more to their Senior Care feed, I was told that you can use it as a supplement so thats what I'm doing and liking it, And it a 50# bag and the cost is not bad at all. |

| The lady I spoke to said it's really considered a supplement. Bluebonnet makes one as well called Boost em?? I think that's what she said but since my bluebonnet feedstore carries the TC already I went with it so she wouldn't have to order in for me. My horses are happily eating the TC so I'm good with it. |

Yep, boost em is another good one, thats what I love about Triple crown and Bluebonnet they have their own vits/supplements, especially BlueBonnet, the feed store I buy my feed from carrys everything I need or want, BlueBonnet even makes their own Parrot mix and other bird feeds, my feed store really has me spoiled, the owner is great, but shhhh dont tell her I said that

Location: Slipping down the slope of old age. Boo hoo. | I am using Nutrena Empower. Several of my friends have switched their horses to it after seeing how well it's worked for my mare. Most of us over-feed -- i.e., those of us who are not trainers and are not able to ride every day. A friend of mine was struggling with feed and supplement costs for her two horses -- horses she only rides a couple of times on the weekend. She switched to the Empower which slashed her feed bill -- and her horses look better, too. She also cut supplements from her bill. Simple, IMO, is always better. |

Yep, me too Roxie! I have my 30 year old on the Triple Crown Senior but also give her some of the TC30 since she likes it & adds a bit of "bloom" to the old girl. |

| Did anyone have any trouble getting their horses to eat the TC at first? I cant believe how picky these prima donna geldings have gotten! I was just giving them a little bit at a time to ease them into it. I already dumped their old grain because they weren't eating it anyway. Last 2 mornings theyve gotten the recommended amount of 1lb and they just pushed it around, took a few bites and decided nope! I know it's not full of junk or sweet good tasting stuff.. but it doesnt smell terrible. I have some renew Gold I'm thinking about mixing it with some of that to see if those titty babies will eat it more willingly then. They have been eating their alfalfa cubes all up in the evenings with their platinum just fine. When on earth did they become so darn picky!!!?? |
