My open mare has lost the same shoe 3 times over the last month due to mud(i think). She wears rubber bell boots 24/7 and seems to lose it during turn out. She has now come up tender. She has very little hoof wall and her feet are starting to crumble. My farrier is worried about patching it as if she pulls it again, it may due more damage. I have left her in her stall today till he shows up tonight but is there any reccomondations for helping her? She is on banamine now for pain but would glue on shoes be an option for the short term? Equi pack?

I have been dealing with this all winter here in CA to because of all the rain/Mud we have. Luckily my horse has a pretty good solid foot. Mine wears bell boots to but that doesn't seem to matter. Rickens is a hoof paint that takes the sting/Soreness out of a bare foot real fast. Might be easier than banamine for long term. You can put it on 2-4x a day. As for thin walls and keeping shoes on, I had a horse off the track that was same way. It can be very frustrating. My shoer did not recommend the glue on kind of shoes.. Can't remember why.

Thank you! She is off the track so her feet just suck! I will look into the paint you mentioned, thank you!

Try Glue on shoes.  You will be pleasently suprised on how well they hold up and the growth you get.  You and your farrier can watch videos on how to put them on. :)
