| Got my boy’s teeth done and was recommended to stay away from hay this winter as he’s a little older than we thought and is missing some important teeth! Good deal for the winter, but I’m also going to a clinic in 2 weeks and want to start incorporating something feed-wise since we’ll be in a stall obviously with no grass. What do you feed your seniors? A hay stretcher with a feed OR a senior complete? What’s more cost effective? I’ll add he’s an easy keeper (have to muzzle him in the summer) so I’d prefer something not super sugary or real high in protein since he doesn’t need it. Something I could easily get at TSC or a co-op (I know it depends on the co-op), and no have to order, would be great too. |

| If you can get triple crown senior that’s about the best I’ve seen! Super super low sugars and nsc at 11%. Little bit goes a LONG way especially for easy keepers. As your horse ages and loses more teeth, it can be used as the sole ration with nothing else if needed. |

| Have had great luck with not a whole lot of Triple Crown Senior with my hard keeper so it would probably be great for your guy and easier on the pocket book. |

| Thanks guys!! I see somewhat of a consensus. Lol. i know it depends on the horse, but how do you feed your triple crown? Do you feed it alone? With any other forage at all? |

The horses I have on it are not " Senior" per se. I use it way way way below the recommended feed rates just to get my forco and vit/min supplement into them. You can adjust amount up or down for each horse. I have a mare that has to be the boss of the whole neighborhood and will pace if a horse 3 miles from her gets moved to a different pen. LOLOL The TC senior keeps her looking amazing. My easy keeper gelding literally gets HALF pound AM/PM because he will get so fat on it.. Its awesome. Yes, my horses have forage 24/7 in front of them ( Alf/Grass mix). But if I had a senioor that was toothless or what have you and could not eat hay. I would absolutely use TC senior as their sole ration. |

Are you mixing the TC with your Renew Gold, I know how you really like the Renew Gold and been using it for awhile, how long have you been using the TC? I love TC, I use the Lite for my IR gelding and pony and Bluebonnet for all the others.. Been with Bluebonnet for about 30 years now, but started Triple Crown about 2 years ago maybe going on 3 years now. |

| Another vote for Triple Crown Senior. That stuff is gold in a bag. It seems high sugar when you get it out (becomes a brick in the cold etc) but it is actually LOW starch LOW sugar- its the oil that turns it into a brick in the cold. I have some crazy impressive before and afters using that feed. |

| I'm going back to Bluebonnet Sr. Therapy feed. I had my horses on a RB from progressive but just found out it's made by cargill and I just dont want to deal with all that. My horses DID NOT like the Triple Crown 30 RB. My close feedstore keeps the BB sr therepy in stock all the time so itll stay convenient for me to get. I remember my crew loved it too. I think its 11% nsc as well and advertised as Dust Free. Which will help my allergy prone 4year old. |

All my horses get Bluebonnet feed except for one gelding and he gets Triple crown Lite and I been adding Boost'em by Bluebonnet and I add it to 3 of my horses feed. They did not eat the Triple crown 30 RB very well but the Boost'Em they gobbled it up, so I stoped the TC 30 and went to BlueBonnets Boost'Em. |

I was wondering about the boost em. Neither store keeps it in stock and I totally hate asking for special feeds lol! Because if I end up not liking or horses dont like it I feel guilty they ordered a bunch or theyll ask me how many bags I need a month... I dont have a clue! I dont want to run out but I dont need 10 bags aging in my feed room either lol! So I just try to keep it easy and feed what they have in stock all the time. The Sr therapy is a super soft clean feed and priced reasonably for me anyway. |

The feed store where I get all my feed from keeps a good stock of BlueBonnets products, I'm so happy with my store, and if I do need something special like BB's parrot mix the owner will just order what I need at the time, she wont make you buy more then what you need. maybe just ask if they will get you a bag or two of the Boost'em, its really a nice supplement and it has a good smell to it, I think its a 30 maybe 40 LB bag, not sure. I was going to go back to calf manna untill she reminded me about the Boost'em.. Edited to add here, you can go to BlueBonnets web site and order from them direct online. Go to their supplements and you can find boost'em there.

I'm definitely going to check it out online. The closest feed store carrys just a small variety of BB feeds. They are mostly a purina dealer. How much of the boost em are you feeding per day? And how much is it ? The TC rb was $35 and the progressive was $30 |

Location: NW MT | We don't have a lot of selection up here, but have been very happy with TC Senior for several years. Currently only using TC products - Lite for the "fatties", TC30 for the PSSM2 mares, & Senior for my 30 year old (and the PSSM2 mares get a handful of it to help entice them since the TC30 seems to not be as "flavorful"). |
