And her 4yr old gelding she started as a 2yr old, all by herself! Shes 14 this year. She took a about a year off riding but is now back to it daily on him and I'm couldn't be more thrilled. I know they are a very special team and bonded. Shes got breakaway in her sights and has been working with him on the basics, getting him good n broke with the rope.

Now is she the one that had kinda of a ruff time of it with him at the start, or am I'm thinking of a different BB? I remember it was a young girl and a yellow gelding, lol.. Please dont hold it against me if I'm thinking of the wrong one

She had a little rough patch with him a long time ago. But nothing crazy lol! He was the horse sent to the trainer and supposedly tried to buck him off.. hes never offered a buck at home. Hes definitely matured and shes putting the time into him now to keep him in line lol! Her evening ritual is after feeding and supper she goes out and hops on him bareback with a lead rope and bare feet and they go for a stroll .. reminds me so much of myself when I was her age with my heart horse... 

OK I did remember right, but I did forget about the trainer part and you freshen up my brain and now that you said that I do remember it now, lol.. 

Shes a lucky girl to beable to do what shes doing, not many get to go hang out with their buddys after supper..

Beautiful girl and beautiful picture. You have good reason to be proud good luck to her roping. Josey’s has a break away roping clinic and a roping reunion every year. Such a good way to get to rope a bunch over a few days and learn correctly.

You have another good lookin' youngster .... LOL .... It probably did this colt good to lay off of it for a year. Now, they can really get down to putting on a good foundation. Does she have anyone close that can coach her in breakaway? It is really easy to pick up bad habits.

Yes, she does. The horse is going back to training regardless if she decides to stick with it. He will make a nice heel horse. If she proves to us shes serious about doing the high school thing nex year, we will buy her a finished breakaway horse for her first year. No way I'd send her on a greenie... she just made varsity cheer so I'm sure her time is limited. I'm letting her put the time into him now but we for sure arent set up to train one for roping he will have to go somewhere for that 

Good for you.  I have seen so many green ropers on a green horses and it can be a disaster.  Finding an older horse (been there, done that) is always the best option.

Yep for sure.. I learned to rope on a very green horse and it sucked lol! , I sucked too. Once I got smart and was able to rope on a nice finished horse it all started coming together... go figure ...  honestly,  I'll be surprised if she truly pursues it, she may just enjoy riding around working him in the pasture and that's ok too. Shes got some time before she has to decide what to do. I'm just happy shes riding him again
