Location: Displaced Iowegian | Thanks, Roxie ..... I am now being able to see out of the one good eye since they patched the other in a way that I couldn't wear my glasses. They operated last Wed. to remove pterygium (growths in the eye) and .... let me tell you .... it IS painful. I have over 15 stitches in my left eye that feel like 15 little razor blades....I had a post op appt. Thursday and Friday. They re-packed it and gave me a script for pain meds (thankfully!!!). The Dr. said that I must have a high tolerance for pain since I JUST said it HURT LIKE H*LL .... he said most come in actually crying about the pain .... LOL..... the worst part was John's driving ...... I finally took the car back Friday and drove with ONE eye ....I have another appt. next week and then 3 more surgeries over the summer.....yippe!!!! If that wasn't bad enough, I have managed to hurt my back! I will be going to the chiro tomorrow ...... It is H*LL to get old .... LOL |

Bless your heart---for your eye situation AND the male driving part! Both of my parents have had eye procedures/surgeries and it was not pleasant for them at all. I'm so sorry you have even more to go thru. Hopefully the chiropractor can at least get your back better |

Thanks for asking ...... UPDATE - 6/27: It has been one week since the surgery. I had a Post Op appt. this afternoon. The eye is still very red and hurts along the edges. I have been putting antibiotic ointment in it four times a day, which then blurs my vision for quite awhile. Dr. says that it is healing well but that I have four stitches that are still in there causing the discomfort. If they don't dissolve by next Tuesday morn, they will remove them .... I am certainly not looking forward to this same surgery in the other eye on July 10th (then 2 cataract surgeries) ..... I fear that this is not going to be a "great" summer ..... I may go into hiding...LOL |

It IS getting better. It is still pretty red but the "scratchy" feeling is getting better. I am still putting anitibiotic ointment in it four times a day.... Hopefully, Tuesday (Dr. appt) he finds that the stitches have dissolved.....If not, I don't look forward to having him removing. I did get some exciting news yesterday. My son (who lives in Cheyenne and is retired millitary) was elected the new National President of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Assn. He grew up in the rodeo arena with "horsepower" that you had to feed and take care of and moved into another type of "horsepower" ..... LOL .... Matt and his "buddy" Skeeter .....
