I feel like I'm always asking y'all for something. . . And I am again---my daddy's best friend of 50 years had heart surgery today.   Triple bypass, valve replacement, draw fluid off of lungs, etc.   We were at hospital all day, until he got out of surgery and family was given a good report.   At that point we ate, checked back in with his wife, and left Little Rock when she said all was still good. We got home 2 1/2 hours later, Momma checked back ASA she walked in house, and Ted is no longer stable, blood pressure low, kidneys not functioning properly, metabolic acidosis (which I've not looked up yet to see what that is), and they're not going to try to get him off vent now.   Please please include him and the family in prayers. . .

Any thing to do with the heart sure can be tricky. My husbands brother had a heart transplant last year, and he did really well, My father in law had triple bypass about 16 years ago and hes had more done to him, but hes done really well also, I just hope that your daddys friend gets better by tomorrow, prayers for him

Things are better today, thank you precious Lord.   Vent is on minimal setting, vitals are better, and they're planning on trying to wake him up today.   Thank ALL OF YOU from the bottom of my heart for the prayers for Ted, my family, and doctors

He's awake and following commands, although they left the vent tube in just in case he needs it.  Vitals are better each day, and improvements are seen daily too.   I don't know how to thank y'all enough for your thoughts and prayers during this trying time.   And thanks for asking Miss Mary.   Hugs to all.

Ted didn't get better and never got out of CICU.   He passed away at 9:30 tonight.   My parents are devastated--over 50 years of being best friends between the 2 couples.  He's been in my life since I was born.   The world just doesn't seem right tonight.  Not only that, but my Daddy's very good friend of 35 years passed away this morning.  To say it's been a bad day is an understatement.  (My most wonderful aunt also died this day 3 years ago.) Please remember Ted's and Roger's families and mine in your prayers. . .

Many prayers going up. I work for the American Heart Association and we keep pushing to eliminate experiences like this for families like your friend's. I will be sure to include him in my "why I do what I do."
