Today is
So this little guy got a wire cut in the pasturn area in April. The wound is healing well but his heal bulb began to swell and this weird stuff seems to be getting bigger. I don't think this is proud flesh as this area was not cut at all. Does anyone know what it is and how to get rid of it? Thanks
Bump
I'll bump for you, too - I've never seen anything like that!
I know it's not, but it looks like a cluster of warts
Call the vet......that's just disturbing. You also need to be oiling those hooves.
Before I opened this up and was just looking at the picture, I swear first thing I thought was a gremlin or tribble. . .
Maybe scratches? Also known as mudfever? It's a fungal or bacterial infection of the skin.
I am not sure "what" that is although it does look like "scratches" .... but I sure as heck would be contacting a vet if the horse was mine .....
Wow I've never seen that before, and my mare just had a wire cut on her pasturn from a few weeks ago. I'd definitely contact a vet just in case.
