I am looking at a mare by a stud named Lotta Driftwood.  Im trying to attach a photo of the pedigree.  She is race bred on the bottom.  Basically Stricking Six/On a High bottom.

I dont know a lot about Driftwood.

I know there are several BB's who could be more beneficial that me but my mare is Sun frost out of a LoneDrifter daughter. She is so good minded, harder work, naturally very athletic. Some sterotypes I heard is they can be spooky, my mare is the quiestest on one the property so I dont know much about that. 

Nelly Millers Mare Sister and Mary Burgers Buckskin both went back to Driftwood. 

I believe Mel Potter's (Sherry Cervi's dad) breeding program was based on Driftwood and most, if not all, of Sherry's horses have Driftwood in their lines.

YES----Mel Potter has been a huge Driftwood supporter forever.

There is a book called The Driftwood Legacy---if you can find one it is a wealth of information and completely changed our direction as for as breeding some 17-18 years ago. Now dang near everything is Driftwood somewhere in their pedigree.

What you get is a horse that has the conformation to perform and last and the want to and try to perform at their best. For us---both of these were huge. Nothing worse than taking all the time to start a colt only to find them coming up sore or that they do not have the mentality to handle the pressure once asked. With the Driftwoods---this problem was solved.

Thank you.  Been reading some and I see the reason for his name, there is a lit of Driftwood in his breding.  I renember someone on here that used to do a % thing.  It would not mean much to me othernthan that member knew a great deal about them.  And crossed on Run...hmmmm. interesting.

So the horse listed above "Lotta Driftwood" is a mare.  The stud probably has a similar name.  Either way, I like driftwood horses.  Like Mighty Broke said, they are build to last.  They have run and cow sense.  Sometimes they can be a little watchy, but I haven't seen that except with the White Lighting Ike daughter I owned.  Most barrel horses go back to driftwood including Dash Ta Fame, although I'm not sure how much impact it has after so many generations.  Driftwood also probably has  been the most influential sire line in the PRCA for the last 80 years.   Three bars is the only other one that can compete on that record.   

LR Designerwood " Maverick " is a true representation of a driftwood horse. His dam was a driftwood mare & I crossed her on designer red. This is one of many top winning runs he made.
