I am looking at buying a magnetic sheet. Because I don't use one very often I am looking at this one https://bootsnlacetack.net/collections/magnetic-ceramic-ice-therapy-products/products/elite-equine-magnetic-therapy-sheet?variant=31354231685179

Yes I know it is a cheaper one I am not able to afford a Back on Track or PHT right now, please no bashing just looking at some advice on how to introduce it. I am going to a Josey clinic in April and was wanting to put it on my horse for the ride (it's about a 5 and a half hour ride from my house) so I am wanting input as to how I should use it. I have read you can use them for up to 24 hours at a time. Thank you

You don't have to "introduce" magnetic blankets, just throw it on. They can be left on as long as you want. If I'm at a 3 day race my horse has it on until I saddle, warm up, run, & then when the saddle comes off it's back on. Probably maybe 30 minutes it's off a day. They'll be fine. I've never heard of this particular one, they're not all legit, but I can't tell you which are and aren't. I'd go the Professionals Choice or Duratech route before I'd get this one personally. Similar price range...If you wanted to do PHT in the future there are dealers that do payment plans on them

I actually looked at the Professional choice one and I didn't care for it because it does not open in the front. Had it opened in the front I would have spent the extra and gone with it.

When I got my PHT I was told to use it a little at a time so my gelding could get use to the feel of it. Like 15 mins at a time and build up the time over the days, 15 mins, then 30 mins and so on.

The blanket that you are looking at should be fine, I dont think it will be as strong as a PHT, but its worth a try at that price. If I didnt already have a magnetic sheet I would give this one a try.

It is identical to a Dura-Tech so I am thinking maybe it is one? Not sure. I may just spend the extra money and order a Dura-Tech.  UGGGG I hate this I don't want to be a cheap skate and get something that won't work or harm my horse but at the same time I could possible save $30 if it is the same thing. Was hoping someone had used this one before.

I found a older thread about magnetic sheets so gave it a bump up for you, not trying to push anything on you but just wanted to try to help you on deciding on what to get.

Have you looked at Professional Choice magnetic sheets? Jeffers has them for 144.99 with free shipping. Professional Choice is a really good company so maybe look into these too, I know its gets over whelming looking at all the different companys.

I did the only thing I do not like about those is they are not open front, you have to put them over the horses head and I am not sure how my mare would like that. She may be totally fine, I just like having the open front.

The PHT's are not a open front either, I thought the same thing about the open fronts, but putting the PHT was alot simpler then I thought it would be, I would just gather it all up in my hands and just slip it over his head, he dont like his ears being touched but he was fine with me slipping it over his head, if your mare is really head shy then it could be a problem with a non open front.

You know I am probably making a mountain out of a mole hill LOL she would probably do fine with it, you know how we get certain things we like and stick to it. Ya that's me LOL Look's like I may be ordering the Professional Choice just because that is a reputable company.  We will see I cannot order til next week. I am going to keep researching and decide. Thank you for your input

I paid for a new BOT mesh sheet on layaway thru revelation ranch. It was really easy and cost me $10 to do the layaway plan. I just got it paid for last week. She gives up to 6 months to pay it. I think I got it done in about a month and a half. I just paid $20 here $40 there, when I could. No minimum payments required. It worked great for me.

On a funny note, I have a fleece cooler that has the neck on it it's not an open front you have to slide, shove, stuff it on them. I dont think I ever laughed so hard in my life when I put it on my horse the first time... I got it over his head but not his ears ... he was just standing there, super annoyed with me .. he looked like obi 1 kenobi. It was pretty tight but I managed to pull it down and let his ears pop back up lol! Taking it off was a nightmare too. He hated it. I was able to catch another open front cooler on sale

If you are on FB, this group has used magnetic, BOT, etc items items listed.  I've bought some of my BOT things that way.  I wouldn't spend the $$ on the extra expensive one either - I DID & it did nothing for either of my horses so sold it.  I have heard the PC ones are pretty nice, but I prefer open fronts too if I can.

Just wanted to say that back on track products are not magnetic products. Very different. B.O.T. products work with ceramic heat that works with your horses or your own body heat. Both magnetic products & b.o.t. are wonderful products. I swear by my magnetic necklass I have. If I'm sore in the neck area I put that on & with in minutes my pain is gone. I also use b.o.t. for me & my horses.

I would go with a Schneiders Duratech. I couldn't justify spending $500 on a magnetic sheet so I did a lot of research and the duratech magnets are the same type as the PHT. I had one and it held up for years.

Also if you want to go with a BOT type product Pro Choice does make a theramic sheet for $155. They have a 30 day money back guarantee. Win Win!

Which clinic is it? I was going to sign up for a clinic in April but they just changed it to August instead.

I received my BOT sheet yesterday! Yay! I absolutely love it! And I think my horse does too! I was so happy when I saw the UPS truck coming up my driveway!
