I am trying to get in touch with Teresa Lilly, she used to own a mare called Meyers Easy Bug. It's a really long story but just need some help getting this mare transfer out of her name. She sold her in 1999, unfortunately the person she sold her to passed away and original papers were lost. I now own a filly out of her son and Aqha is being very unhelpful in get her registered. Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated
Bump
Anyone??
I am assuming that the son of this mare is not registered or you would not need to have Meyers Easy Bug's papers transferred. I order to register the granddaughter you will have to get the sire of your filly registered. That will take DNA from his sire and dam. You will also have to have DNA from both parents of your filly and the filly herself, plus a 5 panel test on the sire of your filly. Each DNA test costs $45 and you are looking at 5 of those. A 5 panel test runs about $85. There has to be a stallion report filed and to add a mare is about $50. To register a foal before 6 months old is $45 then it goes up sharply after that. If the sire of the baby is over two years old the registration fee is around $750. You also have to have an AQHA membership for each person involved. I can understand why AQHA doesn't want to help because they can't even get horses transferred that have all the paperwork correct or get this year's babies registered. You are looking several thousand dollars here which would probably be better spent on a two or three year old without the hassle.
Like I said in my first post, it's a long story about the situation. I am aware of all of this and don't need told where my money is better spend. Thanks! I would just like some help on locating her since AQHA has also tried reaching out to her, with no success.
There is a way you can do this without replacing the papers but I think you've got.
familytreenow.com need her name and possible location. you can come up with addresses and phone numbers as well as relative/associates you can possibly contact.
