| Does anyone know how to do geneoligy search?im horrible with computers and don't know where to start I'm writing a story on my Dad he made statues like Paul Bunyan,Bobs Big Boy,Ford Mustang horse ands I need to know about his past but when I put in his name there's nothing but blank spots for me to fill in. His names William Alvin Swan 8-4-1917 he was born in Grangeville Idaho to Julia Chamberlin Swan and William swan and I know he had two brothers Marvin Alvin Swan and Orville Bill Swan born in 1912 he had a sistHeida Leonora . shouldnt this information just come up ?its asking me to put it in .

          Location: Texas | Ancestry.com is the easiest to use, IMO. You'll get hints in the form of a leaf that shows up in the right hand corner. There's LOTS of info on there. |

That is the website that I used when I did my father's lineage back eight generations....I have posted Swan's parents info but there is much more on Familysearch.org ..... to the OP .... just sign up and get busy .... LOL |

| Jane is my mom it looks like Dad was her third marriage I didn't know that ,my dad made Paul Bunyan and fiberglass horses and I want to do a story on him

| Yes absolutely amazing I had no idea that information was even kept like this so it's obviously kept on each and every person this is first time I seen his bloodlines I'm in hopes to find information on him also to write a story on him. |

      Location: Slipping down the slope of old age. Boo hoo. | I did the DNA with Ancestry.com. My entire life I had been told my mother's side of the family had Cherokee. Well, my test revealed absolutely zero Native American. I'm mostly English/Irish/Scottish along with Swedish and Norweigen. It's been lots of fun following the DNA connections and building a family tree. Very interesting. Well worth the cost of the DNA test. I think they are having a $59 special now. |
