I'm sure this has been debated to death, but I'm looking for ideas for my Christmas list and want to put a new pad on there. My current pad is starting to wear out. I ride in a Bob Marshal treeless barrel saddle. I want something that isn't going to completely break the bank. CSIs are too pricey for me at this time, but I'm looking at 5 Star or any other wool kind. What style, brand and size do you all like for your treeless? My horse is 5 and fairly flat backed.
I have heard alot of good things about saddleright pads for a treeless My treeless I use a 5 Star, but since I have been hearing all the good about Saddlerights I just might get one if I ever get back to riding regularly..
Only pad I use for my treeless is a saddleright pad with a BOT western pad as liner. I've tried a CSI but that's too thick.
5 star 7/8" works best for me
CSI or Saddleright. You need some support there otherwise there is too much pressure IMO. I am not a the biggest fan of treeless, but if you must there needs to be something within the pad to keep the saddle balance and spread out pressure like a normal treed saddle would do.
I'm another vote for the saddleright.
Saddleright pads are really good too.
As for people saying Treeless saddles have more pressure spots..... that is not the case.I go with what my horse feels good in..listening to ones horse is much better than listening to people that do not know you or your horse.

Impact gel. I used to use a 5 star but it didn't work well with my guy. I love my impact gel.
I have a classic equine treeless pad and I have had it for 4 years and still no sign of wear. It has held up great and it fits anyting I have put it on just fine.
