I’ve seen where people have made them, but research shows they aren’t effective at killing stuff like the actual hay steamer....believe me, if so I would make one! I have 2 horses that I have to soak hay for a minimum of 2 hrs 2 times a day and it’s a beast in the winter when they need so much.

I used an old ice chest. Put the hay in there. Put water in a kettle to steaming and poured it over hay and shut lid, worked pretty good. I am cheap and didn't want to spend that much money on one.

Thanks all! Mine does fine as long as i can just dunk his hay to remove most of the dust. I don't need to soak it for any length of time to remove sugar or anything. For now I will just keep dunking. I can't justify 1-2,000 on a steamer.
