Location: Kansas | There's tons of waste in this stimulus bill including millions to foreign countries and another $24 million to the Kennedy Art Center. You just wouldn't believe the pork projects including financing an end to mis-using the Smokey the Bear slogan (gasp) and a gender research program worth $10 million to Pakistan. Once again, the bill is calling for payments to illegal migrants actually more than to US citizens. Trump is trying to cut out the waste and change the payout to American citizens to $2000 per person.

In some ways they are worse, because at least Democrats don't walk around claiming they are "fiscally conservative". The reason for fiscal conservatism being close to extinction is obvious to me. Politicians have figured out that the only way they can keep their position at the trough is through this kind of crap. It has been said, hundreds of years ago, actually, that a democracy is always temporary in nature. It cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy.
That's what's happening right now.
That's why we need term limits. |
