Maybe someone needs to point out that it is AMEN not AMAN. Don't think it has anything to do with sex of a person. This is what we have running our country. I think the bigest and stupidist mistake that many are making is offering such broad generalizations. Just because one member of a party does/says something-  the entire party is painted with the same brush. Its rediculious, and results in some of the iodiotic back and forth comments we see on here. It happens on both sides. It seems like the whole world has gone bat**** crazy - until you stop and take the time to have a rational discussion. Usually, reality is somewhere between your perspective and mine. So much stuff gets over dramatized- and it obscures what the origional message was. Why keep feeding the fire?

I don't quite understand what Emanuel Cleaver was trying to do with his "amen and a woman" ending to his prayer. He said it was a quip in refrence to the number of women in Congress. I didn't quite get it- kinda didn't think it was appropriate in a prayer. But it wasn't (to me) anything to get my panties in a bunch over. Irronically, reactions to the prayer highlighted the VERY thing his prayer was asking for help with. How many people commenting  and raising such a fuss actually listened to his prayer?

The following is a quote from Cleaver about his prayer...

“I personally find these historic occasions to be blessings from God for which I am grateful,” Cleaver said, adding that he was “deeply disappointed that my prayer has been misinterpreted and misconstrued by some to fit a narrative that stokes resentment and greater division among portions of our population.

“Rather than reflecting on my faithful requests for community healing and reversion from our increasingly tribal tendencies, it appears that some have latched on to the final word of this conversation in an attempt to twist my message to God and demean me personally.

i listened to cleaver  try to explain it away  not flying  with  me 1 he is an ordained pastor he know  better or should. imo
