Today is
I like the Alpaca Roper Cinch. I like it because the alpaca stays soft even after years of riding. It is easy to clean and it is breathable. I have never had a horse get girth itch using them. I also like the roper style because it covers more area. In my opion, I belive it is more confotable for my horse and allows pressure to be distributed. All my staddles have an alpaca roper cinch.
i have both professional choice shearling and merino. i honestly dont think my horse can tell the difference - i feel it with my hands and the merino is softer when new but after use i dont see much difference. i splurged and got a custom mohair. I dont like it and he seems bothered by it -it rolls no matter what i do, and it seems to dig where the buckles are - maybe its just the way he is shaped... idk.... so i switched him back to the shearling/fleece. I wished the mohair worked, it seems more breathable and comforable. but oh well

Ditto
I've used mohair and they are good but I'd rather have something a little softer and I like how the fleece and airflex cinches have material between the buckle and the horse's sides.
Thank you camocowgirl, that helps!
