 "Spaz-tacular"!!

Location: Bennett, CO | Ok. Not debating wether or not to get the vaccine but it seems like it' so differently everywhere.
My mom and neighbor are both over 75. Both wanted to get the vaccine and it has just been crazy. Here is the process Colorado- register with your doctor and health provider. Then register with anyone you think may be getting vaccine.
my mom registered as soon as she was eligible in early January but seriously it's a game of who sees what and where they are vaccinating. You have to watch social media as you never know what entity may come up with doses I saw a post for a vaccine clinic at the little podunk clinic the next town over Mom got an appointment and received her 1st dose last week. My neighbor missed out. I registered him for 9 different providers. And then this morning- via FB- I heard about a fire station 40 miles west having a drive up. Got him registered for Thursday but this seems like the worst idea. They want to vaccinate the 70plus population- folks who are not tech savvy and may not at all be on the internet- yet they want these folks to jump thru hoops and search the internet all day? |

Location: Slipping down the slope of old age. Boo hoo. | In our County - right now - only two pharmacies are providing the vaccine. Sign-up is by telephone call to the pharmacy. It's working well so far. My husband is 72 and he got his first dose one week after I called and put him on the list. When he went for the vaccine, it was set up as a drive-through in a large warehouse facility and he said it went smooth as silk -- no waiting and plenty of people there to assist folks with paperwork, etc. I am very proud of our little rural County!!! He received the Moderna and receives his second dose 2/23. The pharmacy will call him to let him know time for the dose. It's my understanding there are on-line sign-up lists in the larger cities and counties. For those not tech-savvy, they will need assistance doing that for sure! |

| I haven't been paying much attention to it because no one in my immediate family is getting vaccinated but, I did happen to catch a story this morning on my local news that the Bell County Expo is having a drive thru vaccination today but only for the 2nd dose. I'm actually headed that way now to take my dog to the vet which is right next door to the expo. Be curious to see if it's lined up out the gates. |

Location: Wisconsin | I live in a rural county in Wisconsin. Everyone that is eligible to receive one is able to get one. My parents, in-laws and aunts and uncles who over the age of 65 (which is the group they are doing now) are able to sign up easily for one. The vaccines are being given through the local clinics, the 2 pharmacies and our County Health Department. My elderly, high risk family members are very happy to receive it and it has been very easy for them to call and make an appointment. |

Location: MS | Our state (MS) set up a website where you can go register. It gives all locations offering the vaccine and you choose your location and appointment time. My 84 year old dad got his first shot 2 weeks ago and I've already scheduled his second shot. Most of the shots are given at the county health departments and if your county doesn't have open appointments available you can select another county. You just have to make sure they are offering the same vaccine as your first shot. |

Location: LuluLand~along I64 Indiana | Indiana has 1 central website to sign up on. you go there and then pick the vaccination location. That location then has available appointments to sign up for. This is how they are distributing the vaccine in the places that need it for appointments. However if there are more vaccines in the state than appointment they set up mass vac sights. You can then go to that website and sign in for a vacanation appointment which will cancel the other one. they are also letting folks show up to the mass vac days but only taking where they wont run out of quanitiy for the appointments. I signed my dad and his wife up on Jan 22nd for a feb 1st appointment. They did not opt in to the mass vac day and had no trouble getting vaccinated at their appointments. ETA: Indiana started with Health care workers then went quickly to the Over 80 crowd. When i signed up dad they were on 70 and older and are just now taking appointments for 65 and older. Seems to be working very effiently at least in the southern part of the state. |

Location: Tulsa, Ok | In Oklahoma you sign up via a health dept portal. The prolem is that demand exceeds the availability. They release appts at various locations on Thursday mornings. The available appts are gone very quickly. I discovered that the appts actually go live late Wednesday/wee hours on Thursday morning and was able to sign up when vaccine was first released to over 65 population. I actually got my second shot a couple of hours ago. |

Location: Randolph, Utah | I'm not too sure how it works where I'm at. I know in the county where I work people had to sign up but more signed up then they had vaccine for so they did a lottery. I seen quite a few complaints that people were told they'd get a text but some got an email and missed it. I live in a small town in Utah and my mom called out health department nurse and got her shot just a couple days later. She's 64 but not in great health and overweight. I didn't think she'd qualify where she was under 65. |

Location: SW MO | We live in SW Missouri. In our county if your over 65 you go on line & register with the health dept. They contact you & set up an appointment. They sit up a drive through vacccine center months ago. You just drive through. My Aunt & Uncle registered on line & got theirs 2 days later. My mom registered and got hers 3 days after registering. We were told once they opened a case of vaccine they had to use it all so they were making appointments in numbers that would match the numbers in the cases. In other words if there are 102 viles in a case they would wait till they had 102 registered before sitting up a day. ( we do live in a rural county ) |

| I think the process around my area in SW Missouri has been pretty efficient. My only reservation was that there were several people (friends & family) that did not meet the criteria and were able to be one of the first ones in our area get vaccinated. I don't want to see vaccines be thrown out, but being the first ones in line and be vaccinated in our area before seniors and ones with medical conditions was pretty questionable. But in the haste they really cannot question eligibility, now our area is pretty much whoever wants it can get it. Luckily I got several family members signed up after the first initial rush and all appointments have been fulfilled. But the there were a few people I could not get signed up due to filled up appointments when the vaccines were first available. But luckily it was only a few weeks before they had another vaccination station set up . We even had people come in from other counties/Metropolitan areas to get their vaccinations.

Location: Nebraska | Where I am living now, they are on I believe the "second phase" (they have specific numbers and letters to coordinate the phases of eligibility). Part of this phase involves agricultural workers, so I got my first Pfizer dose last week! Easy as pie, workers were super nice and helpful, and it all went very quickly. I had some muscle soreness (around the same reaction that I get to most IM injections), but that's it. Expecting a "false alarm" fever reaction after my second dose in a few weeks, so I'm preparing accordingly. My grandparents live in Carver County, MN, and are both fully vaccinated! This is especially exciting for my grandmother, who lost her older sister, her younger sister's husband, and nearly her younger sister to the virus. Her younger sister's daughter texted me a picture of my grandmother and her two living siblings visiting after a year of not being able to and it brought tears to my eyes. |

Location: Tulsa, Ok | The process in Oklahoma seems to have improved with experience and the increased availability of vaccines. Appointments open up to the general population on April 1st. |
