Due to hay shortage and the quality is not as great this year I am supplementing soaked cubes at feeding time at night roughly 3-4 pounds along with grain. Right now they have 24/7 hay and pasture. When traveling and staying over night in a stall has anyone just fed cubes? I know I would have to increase to 9-10 pounds in the am and 9-10 pounds in the pm.  I was told by a dealer that he has rodeo clients that only feed cubes when traveling to save on space. 

I feed cubes when traveling to get the extra water in them.  If I were to feed cubes while in a stall, I would also add good grass hay.
