Here is my mare's pedigreehttps://www.allbreedpedigree.com/ss+imaweebully

She was a 2D/3D mare. She stands at 16.1h and just as wide. I was going to breed to ASNY, however I don't think I will have the money for the stud fee by October.. my back-up is getting gelded. Before I set my eyes for As Good As Nick Gets, I'm curious to see what y'all would pair her with. Prefer to stay under 2k, 2.5 is pushing is. Prefer Pink, but it's okay with a Ruby Buckle stallion. My mare is very sweet, has an old soul, however she can be stubborn/opinionated.

Thank you for any opinions! ??

this will be an unpopular opinion but I would breed her to nothing.

No offense to you personally, don't even know you.

But more so today than pretty much ever, mares need to be exceptional to pass on their genetics.

and also will be unpopular, the stud fee will be the cheapest thing you pay for. If you are tight on doing that I wouldn't breed.

She seems like a really nice mare but I think you would actually come out better to buy a foal for whichever discipline you plan to head towards. This way the risk of losing your mare is low and the fees that would rack up are already taken care of. Plus you can choose your favorite color.

I really like Lion's Share of Fame, do you have any pictures of her?

I raise my own and do what I want with them. It is not a cheap venture. The stud fee is only PART of the expense and you haven't included shipping and vet fees. These two run $700 up and if you don't get your mare bred the first time, it starts all over again. There could be chute fees and everything else under the sun. I have a good vet who is fairly reasonable and does a good job. If you are planning on selling the foal being a small breeder makes it hard d to get a decent price for them. If you are planning on keeping the horse to compete on you are probably looking at $8500 to $10,000 before the horse is ready to start training. If you plan on competing in Ruby or Pink buckle you better find a trainer that competes at that level to do any good. There is also that $200 per year fee for each of those incentives. If you are going to compete in the horse at local or regional shows, there is no need to breed to pink or Ruby buckle stallions.  I have several that are paid into some incentives but my personal opinion is that these stallion incentives are going to put the small breeder out of business and run the price of prospects way up. If I were going to breed to a stallion in any incentive, it would have to be Eddie Stinson.

She's your mare.

You do what You want.

Every one has to start at some time.

I have a 2021 Slye By Design baby- I like her a lot- she's correct, smart and has legs to cover some ground. Im not certain his 2022 Fee but was very affordable in 2021 for all the incentives (eg PB).

Do keep in mind you can plan on at least another $1k in addition to stud fee for collection, shipping, vet AI costs, etc. BUT raising your own is rewarding and exciting!

Best of luck on your venture!

Is this going to be a foal for you or to sell?

To sell.....won't get a whole lot for foal.

But for you, I'd go with Bullseye Bullion or Famous and Shameless.

You could double up on Bully Bullion with some Shawne Bug or maybe even better add Dash ta Fame and Shawne Bug.
