I have a mare that has been turned out and today I took a good look at her and she didn't look good.  The other horses it the pasture look ok but not her.  I remember a post about the sister of one of pro barrel racers that sells (?) an EPM treatment but of course I cannot find the post.

Does anyone remember who it was or have a treatment that they had good luck with?

My friend who battled epm (and won the battle so to speak) in her good horse absolutely swears by this. It's not cheap and you have to get it from a vet, but she says it is worth every penny. She also tried the epm super dewormer that got popular for a while but says she did not see any difference at all.

EPM treatments are not cheap. Get the horse checked by a vet first. It could be anything

^^^This. I had a race horse trainer tell me my horse had EPM based off of how he saw her moving. Vetting determined it was her stifles.

Marquis still has the only delivery system back by research that penetrates the blood brain barrier - according to Mississippi State University (equine hospital vet and teacher)

Protazil is FDA approved for EPM. It comes in an alfalfa base micro pellet,

Diclazuril is the active ingredient . It also crosses the blood brain barrier. I'd pick it over Marquis any day. Great product.

EPM has been hittin left and right in my area this spring. My 18 yr old mare started acting weird and looking horrible..shes normally a very, very, very full figured sassy type.  She had EPM..which is something in all my horse sponsoring years I've never had to deal with.  She was treated with Toltrazuril for 30 days and had great results.

So I just tested mine for ****s & giggles at her post op checkup from her KS surgery and she's moderately positive for both strains. Marquis isnt apparently available right now, but does has anyone had one work better than the other on one with both strains? She has no symptoms & passed a physical neurpological test 100% fine, but treating anyway. Going to treat the others without testing since they have all been eating the same food and they have no grass access so it should have come from the hay or grain they all share
