Do not know who all follows the news but there was a HUGE train wreck up here in Ohio about 5 miles from us on Friday. What a stressful few days it has been. Train was on fire and hauling hazardous materials and they couldn't get it out. The cars were getting ready to explode so rtaher than let that happen they blew them themselves to control the situation. We were moving horses like crazy on pins and needles waiting to see how it went---it ended up not blowing our direction, but it has been a crazy crazy couple days. This was when they blew the cars yesterday.

Thanks for asking---we are all fine. Not having any ill effect but I believe it will be years till we see all the effects from this. It was bad.

I watched a lot of coverage of it.  Fish and animals are dying from the leakage into the water.  Serious stuff going on here.

We are still fine, be glad to get through foaling season without any issues though. Who knows what the long term issues will be from this. We are close, it was crazy when it happened, I was going to bed and looked at Facebook and it said train wreck in East Palestine, well that is right over the hill from us. Went out on the back porch and the whole sky was glowing---that is when I knew this was no ordinary wreck. As the days went on it just got worse and worse, Really unbelievable that nobody was hurt or killed--if there is an upside, it is that.

Thank God you are all OK.  Has the President Biden made any plans to visit?  Oh wait.  I forgot, he had to tend to bigger things, like handing more money to Ukraine in person.  What about the Secretary of Transportation?  Oh wait. He's busy on the speaking tour promoting equity and leftist racism.  My bad. Your neck of the woods isn't important.  Y'all are just a bunch of gun toting Bible loving right wingers.  That water with the rainbow oil slick looks perfectly fine to me. No need to worry about the phosgene, vinyl chloride, and other poisons.  They dug a trench and buried the stuff.  The risk of that leaching into ground water is probably minimal.  

The guy who actually won the last Presidential election was there yesterday.  Trump brought huge pallets of drinking water, bought McDonalds for all the firefighters and everyone who happened to be in the restaurant at the time.  Hugely supportive of the people and requested that Joe make the same trip.  Joe's pretty good at tripping you know.  

People can argue all over Facebook all they want---I am here. NOTHING was being done till Trump announced he was coming. PERIOD, end of story. The Norfolk people were in the wind as soon as the tracks were fixed, if the EPA was here, they were not doing anything and dang sure weren't doing their job----they let them put the tracks right down on all the contaminated soil. NOW, we are getting some action---FEMA came in Saturday with water. Everyone is blaming each other for the slow response, typical. Why did they come, TRUMP was coming, no way they could let him swoop into town with loads of water saying the government isn't helping you but I am. Now that EPA is testing water and soil everywhere and hopefully we will get some actual answers, but I hired an independent to test my water and soil---I am not trusting what they say. I just want to know that my water is fine and my horses can graze without worry.

One of the townspeople made a good point too........that until snow and rain wash those toxins down into the aquifer, of course the water will test relatively clean.

Toxic wastewater used to extinguish a fire following a train derailment in Ohio is headed to a Houston suburb for disposal.

Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo says “firefighting water” from the East Palestine, Ohio, train derailment is to be disposed of in the county and she’s seeking more information.

The wastewater is being sent to Texas Molecular, which injects hazardous waste into the ground for disposal.

I had heard this also but do not know it to be fact.
