Hello!

I picked my horses hooves out yesterday before our ride and they smelled bad.

What do I need to look for to identify any issues? She seen the farrier 4 weeks ago and he said there wasn’t any issues.

Thanks!

If you typically go any period of time between cleaning your horses hooves out, manure and other stuff will get caught in there and cause that smell.

Thrush has a very distinct smell.  If your stalls/lots are wet and horses are standing in it, it is most likely thrush.
