I agree too. I don't think they should have put girl with bikini. But unfortunately that's the society we live in. |

Location: North Dakota | hlynn - 2013-10-23 6:20 PM They could be NFR champions. Still have ZERO respect for them for being on this show. It's not even about how the sport is portrayed. It's about women in general. They are supposed to be professional athletes, not professional drama queens. They should know better. They're all adults. But I guess $$$$$$$ talks.
Maybe they don't want to haul all over the country to go for the NFR. Maybe they are happy running where they are and with what they are accomplishing. I sure think it would be fun to be on a TV show and would have to think pretty hard about it if I was asked. I think it is a once in a lifetime opportunity and they probably figure WTH not? I would rather go for it and find out it wasn't a good idea then to sit back and think what if. Barb West was a record holder with a 16.7 on a standard.
Everyone is jumping to conclusions on exactly what this show is going to be all about just from a small little promo that is like a few sentences long??? Just relax and keep an open mind. Don't get your panties in a wad over something that doesn't effect you! It is their choice to be in the show so let them worry about how it will portray them. |

Location: Oklahoma & Texas | Yea it irritates me.. the poster... puuuhhlease... I for one enjoy not only the sport but the tradition... seems like the show is more of a mockery of it... bikini barrels... privledged rodeo queens... sounds to me like a spun up tv show... their going to promote half naked girls riding horses... or well.. thats what their flyer looks like.. .and yes I am sure you wont' see real pro's on there... at least not in a bikini! I love that the network may be focusing on our sport.. but seriously.. bikini barrels pic is the one they choose for the flyer... you can tell what they are trying to draw in... can't remember when i've seen a gal run barrels in a bikini at the NFR or pro rodeo.. or even futurity.. oh wait.. we don't... I know there are sidepots and jackpots where they do this... thats like 1 % of barrel races.. .and its not sanctioned...its not what i want my daughters or nieces to see as the focus of the sport... there's more value here then flesh. |

I doubt they care wether you respect them or not . You have no idea why each person decided to do the show.

lavish and glamorous world of the women of the pro rodeo circuit.
lavish and glamorous
WHAT. Correct me if I'm wrong, but lavish and glamorous are two words that don't come to mind when thinking of horses. |

Location: flatlands | I dated Marvel's ex-husband back when we were in HS, and we have stayed close friends. I spoke to him several times while this was being produced. There is no doubt that there will be drama, but I can also testify that Marvel is a hand. She was even a pretty tough break-away roper in school, and she has placed at lots of prorodeos out west. |

Of course it is scripted, of course it is not true reality, of course they are told what to say when to say it and when to do it. Of course there will be drama, ummm hello did we all forget this is a reality show not a documentary on ranch girls on natgeo. |

Ew. The A&E article sounds terrible. "Lavish & glamorous world..." "Hailing from backgrounds as diverse as their credit card purchases" "Of course when everyone is chasing the same goal, there is plenty of backstabbing to go around... not to mention plenty of cowboys!"
Sounds like a rich girl version of Texas Women with more drama. And that posted looks COMPLETELY airbrushed. Way to grab some publicity. Guys will watch it I'm sure.
EW
I will admit I was excited at first but definitely sounds more "texas Women" than "Duck Dynasty". It is definitely time for a more of the behind the scenes look into rodeo and barrel racing, but this sounds like the highlights of those barrel racers that are used to having everything handed to them and not working there A**es off to climb to the top. I think A&E is trying to compete with MTV now :/ so sad |

I wish it could be more like the Ranching reality show that aired but just from the cover I'm not getting that vibe, at all. But then if you think about it, barrel racing has gotten pretty glamorized in general over the last decade or so with all the glamorized glitzy marketing that goes on and all the bling so it's not surprise that A&E would seize the opportunity to capitalize on it. |

| I think it's a slap in the face to the majority of barrel racers.
With the exception of the Bikini Barrel Races... how many times do you actually see girls running at jackpots or rodeo's in daisy duke shorts and bikini tops?
"Reality" TV???? My rear end. There is nothing "real" about the series from what I've seen. I don't care how good of hands these girls are. They have participated in taking one of the most wholesome, family oriented sports out there and cheapened it by portraying our event in a light that is very far from reality.
I hope their 15 seconds of fame is worth it. |

YEP!
Hey i'll probably watch it, I mean I watch the amish mafia for goodness sakes
I'll end up enjoying most likely, while the poster protrays something that I necessarily don't agree with (more or less to draw in a big man crowd), it seems worth watching. |

| Well, if I looked like that in a bikini riding a horse, I would ride in one all the time. Just sayin........................It's for entertainment y'all. Nothing more nothing less. Pretty sure doing a TV show only showing us gals mucking stalls, packing the trailer, long trotting your horse, and looking like crap because you have been up for 24 hours straight getting from one rodeo to the next wouldn't make for good ratings and most certainly would be cancelled after the first episode. I am GLAD the sport is getting any national attention. Good for these girls! I hope they get paid big bucks and have a ball doing the show. Side note: Doing this show does not make them any less of a hand with a horse. |

Barb West is a friend of mine and riding a horse I ran for three years
He is the real deal and so is she. She made it to our circuit finals this year with limited hauling because of this silly show.
As far as the bikini barrel racer sorry no retouched photos needed Jessica is a beautiful young woman who can rode the hair off anything neither of these girls are rich! They work hard for all they have. They just want to rodeo
They didn't not write or produce the show
I saw the train wreck when the show was pitched but isn't that what people watch on TV. ? Reality shows about women are always *****y cat fights
It makes me sick.
Sadly a non horse / rodeo person doesn't give a **** how dirty we are how much we train and how hard the rodeo road is they want to see drama
Please be mindful before you slam someone you dont know. If you don't like the show don't watch it Best way to protest it.
As sad as it is, these girls will be edited to look like what ever they (the tv show ) wants to draw attention, they may not be like that but that is how everbody that does not know them will think of them, and belive they are.
A few years ago there was a show about rodeo in Canada, I cant rember what it was called but it sure made Sieara look like a spoiled pouty little b$%^& shes not, but the 2 epsodes I watched made her look pretty bad.
You couldent pay me enough money to have a bunch of people that don't care about me tell the world what im like, no way no how.
Im not bashing them, I don't know them, but I cant see how this will be good positive publicity for our sport. I hope Im wrong though and this is a wounderful show
Rodeo Life on the Circuit was the one here, they made Sierra and that other lady look terrible. Worst show! |

WHAT? Are you saying Amish Mafia is not real?!?!? But it's supposed to be reality TV?
I'm not a huge fan of reality TV anymore, but I will watch Rodeo Girls. Most regular scripted TV shows about horse related things end up being pretty hoaky. At least Rodeo Girls will be more authentic and relatable because the women on the show are real barrel racers and good hands and I'm hoping they'll be portrayed as such on the show. I'm interested in seeing their daily life on the rodeo road. |

| Okay so did anyone see half the girls Jr. Rodeo... for real found all the girls on Twitter and i've never heard of one of them but I sure hope they can stay classy and treat the horses with the respect that true rodeo girls do.. thats what rodeo is about... the HORSES not the girls... my opinion.. Does anyone know these girls?
