If you were president and you were told someone was paying the Taliban/Isis or whomever to kill American soldiers what is the first thing you would do? Stop our soldiers exposure to the threat? WE DID.
What is the second thing you would do? Confront the country or individual suspected of the bounty? Of course! But you better be pretty **** sure you have facts and not rumors before you call them out.
What if your intel sources did not all agree? Has your intel been wrong in the past? What if the media already leaked the rumor from one of your less than loyal intel sources, and left you hung out to dry?

Location: Bastrop, Texas | Whatever happened to the disaster all the experts were expecting when Trump decided to pull out those 50-100 advisors from Syria? That story sure evaporated quickly. Why? Because he was right. They hated JFK when he proved them wrong as well. Keep that in mind. Both the top brass and military-industrial-complex hated him for his willingness to go against their wishes.
Trump has consistently been in favor of getting us out of the ME. Not Mattis. Not Bolton. Not Obama. Not Bush. That's been his position on the ME for many years before he even decided to run. He wants those countries to sort out their differences amongst themselves. He thinks we've been suckered into spending $8 Trillion in the ME, with nothing to show for it. In fact, he contends our presence has made things worse, if anything. That's how his push to make us energy independent dovetails into his ME goals. Other than his stance on Iran, he has worked hard to achieve his goal of keeping us out of ME entanglements. A nuclear armed Iran cannot be allowed, and Trump knows this. Slow but sure, Trump is getting us out.
This does not go over well with the deep state. The military-industrial-complex stands to lose a lot, in the long run.
As to Trumps lies and exaggerations, it's true. Politicians lie. It's in their DNA. He's lied about things that were inconsequential. Bush and Obama's lies were extremely consequential. When it comes to promises made -promises kept, Trump has excelled. | |

The only time I hear anything its on the radio when we are going to town, I love to listen to Sean Hannity and Joe Pags {sometimes} and love Michael Berry but since I dont go any where often I'm out of the loop on most things so learning things here, I'm not the type to sit and listen to radio/ you tube all day long. No, he was just a plain ol' drafted army soldier ..... he never discussed the reason for a few "short" trips to VN from Okinawa. I always just assumed it was "supply" related. In fact, he never discussed his time in the Army ..... ever..... and I never asked! | |

My Uncle Don was in the Korean war as a Mechanic and he would never ever talk about it, he said he seen things that he wished that he never saw and had to do and he would leave it there. And my Great Aunt was flight nurse in Vietnam and her husband flew bomber jets {He didnt get to come home} and I can remember when I was a little girl someone would ask Aunt Gretchen about her husband Smitty and her experience being a flight nurse and all she would do was cry, so asking her anything about the war was really a no no. She would always say you had to be there to understand what I have and now going threw being in that war. It really messed her up, but she was a fighter and lived out the rest of her days working at the Military hospital in Kerrville, she was a hoot to be around when she has having a good day. I'm the lucky one in the family since I was her favorite neice she gave me some of her pins and her husbands flight pins that he engraved on the back of them to her "Always your Smitty, And I have their wedding Pictures him being in his Army Uniform, they are just beautiful, I need to get them back out and hang them up again, since we moved here I have them in storage. I was/am so proud having her as my Great Aunt.. | |

I would love to see a picture of your Great Aunt! Flight Nurses are amazing! That truly was the greatest generation. I stand in awe of them.

You make a valid point. Our intel is not infallible it the Iraq war. I think what Trump meant was that him knowing about bounties and not acting was fake. What he should of said was he would not discuss intel because it puts our troops at risk. He would wise to say less. Can we for one moment though just set aside all the media garbage and look at the facts. Trump has our troops stood down in AFG. Not Bush or Obama can claim that. So to say he put our troops at risk (in this situation is "fake") This is a great conversation- thank you everyone for participating! Aren't we just a happy bunch of MoFo's ( wasn't that the description Mecon came up. What is a MOFO anyhow? Some kind of alien? :) | |

And the Dem's could not give a reason but we all know it is because they won't give Trump credit for ending the war. And I don't even like Trump but that is the hard facts. So where is the outrage? I'm the lucky one in the family since I was her favorite neice she gave me some of her pins and her husbands flight pins that he engraved on the back of them to her "Always your Smitty, And I have their wedding Pictures him being in his Army Uniform, they are just beautiful, I need to get them back out and hang them up again, since we moved here I have them in storage. I was/am so proud having her as my Great Aunt.. I would love to see a picture of your Great Aunt! Flight Nurses are amazing! That truly was the greatest generation. I stand in awe of them.
When it cools off this afternoon I will try and get some out of my storage room, I really need to get them out so I can find a place to hang them. She never remarried after Smitty so she had no children to pass off some of these memories of herself and her life. She had a stroke one day while driving home from the VA Hospital in Kerrville, she was on her way home to Hunt, she and her sister lived on a big ranch deep in the hills of Hunt Texas, she got lost for about 4 days in the hills, they found her car on a bluff but she had wondered off from the car and this all happened after dark and back in those days that hill country was really rough to get lost in, they had hunting parties looking for her and finally the tracking dogs and men on horseback found her, she was in pretty bad shape, I still could not believe they found her alive, but after all that she got back to a tiny bit of normal and tryed to work at the VA hospital but then she really lost what was left of her and had to go into a nursing home there, I really hate that happen to her, its deeply saddens me to even think about the end of her life, she was such a tough lady and fought so hard to get over that stroke but it got her in the end, she wanted so badly to get back to her patients at the VA hospital.. She was one cool lady.. My Grandpa Bill also served in Vietnam, but he was a whole nother story, he was a cool fella as well.

And again people...the Dem's just voted along with some GOP to stop Trump from withdrawing from Afghanistan. And the Dem's could not give a reason but we all know it is because they won't give Trump credit for ending the war. And I don't even like Trump but that is the hard facts.

If you were president and you were told someone was paying the Taliban/Isis or whomever to kill American soldiers what is the first thing you would do? Stop our soldiers exposure to the threat? WE DID.
What is the second thing you would do? Confront the country or individual suspected of the bounty? Of course! But you better be pretty **** sure you have facts and not rumors before you call them out.
What if your intel sources did not all agree? Has your intel been wrong in the past? What if the media already leaked the rumor from one of your less than loyal intel sources, and left you hung out to dry?

You make a valid point.
Our intel is not infallible it the Iraq war.
I think what Trump meant was that him knowing about bounties and not acting was fake. What he should of said was he would not discuss intel because it puts our troops at risk. He would wise to say less.
Can we for one moment though just set aside all the media garbage and look at the facts. Trump has our troops stood down in AFG. Not Bush or Obama can claim that. So to say he put our troops at risk (in this situation is "fake")

Regardless of party affilliation, your state's congressmen represent YOU. This is one of the things wrong right now -- folks have stopped communicating with their congress due to 'labeling'. If person is X they must be terrible and horrible. If person is Y they must be terrible and horrible. I personally know almost every one of our congressmen and I can assure you they want to hear from ALL Arkansans. Discussion is good! Yelling at them and making accusations is bad. They want to hear from ARKANSANS. Help make American and Arkansas better -- 'communicate'. Sulling up in a corner, pouting because someone does not 100% agree with your ideas/opinions does no good for anyone. I have dear, close friends who are not in the same party as I, yet we remain dear, close friends and have great sane conversations. We learn from one another. We have actually worked on the same agendas. It's really difficult, actually impossible, to hear someone's views/ideas when they are yelling and spitting with anger in your face (Been there - was accosted by protesters and was called some of the most foul and nasty things ever. I kept my head down, smiled and invited them to attend the meeting with me - to sit down and talk so I could hear and understand their views. Nope, more yelling, name calling and gross spitting.
