Three 4 Luck - 2013-12-09 9:05 AM CYA Ranch - 2013-12-08 11:59 PM Please dont start knocking how girls are riding. Β This attitude is why I mostly avoid BHW during the NFR. One of my favorite things is to critique the girls' runs with other people--it's educational-- but God forbid you point out someone's mistakes on here.
There is a difference between critiquing how they are riding, or how their horse is running.......and downright trash talking on their runs.
We all as barrel racers, equestrians, and horse enthusiasts all have bad runs/bad days.....and we look back and say "well I could of did that better if I did this....." so forth, because that is how we LEARN from our mistakes........not allow others to broadcast it. Christy, you and moving are looking great, I'm rooting for you and Sherry the next rounds. Bring home a check!!!!!
I didn't see the OP's original post as anything constructive about christys run.Β Just my 2 cents.
Β I thought it was just badly written and was trying to give the OP the benefit of the doubt, but someone enlightened me that we have a pattern here. LOL |

Ok, I haven't read all the posts on here but here's my 2 cents: These athletes (horses & riders) didn't just recieve a free pass to theΒ NFR. It took grit, sacrifice, & determination to get there. The OP did come off with a "I could do better" attitude. Now, I watch every run with the though of "learning". I want to see what makes a fast run, what didn't seem to work, etc. I have had the pleasure of running down that alley at the T & M. (during the Las Vgeas Heldorado in the early 90's) Let me tell you how HARD it is to have those kind of reflexes while PUSHING your horse to the WALL. The barrels areΒ like 15' off the fence. Any horse that has any self preservation, DOES NOT have a desire to RUN to the wall.Β That arena can make the most free running of horse VERY ratey. Now, I too, am the BEST athlete from my couch lol. I not only run a PERFECT barrel pattern, but I also coach ropers, steer wrestlers, and all rough stock events! AND, during Olympic years, I am an Olympic coach; everything from downhill skiing to rhythmic gymnastics lol. I'm also a TOP NOTCH spotter for many NASCAR teams. All from the comfort of my couch. I'm a pretty humble person about my skills, I don't even chargeΒ a fee for my advice Β
Hey there, I'm a NASCAR fan! :) |

There is no doubt that this week has been a struggle for a few of us. This pen is the toughest pen you will run in all year and and for me personally I'm have a little tough time getting my timing right. On top of that we all have 500 people texting and commenting on how to ride, what we are doing wrong and how they hate what we are wearing. What you don't see is the top 15 are busy from 5am until 11 pm working, meeting with fans and special needs children, meetings and a million other things that pull us in a million different directions. We are blessed to be here but please keep in mind and respect that we all deserve to be here, worked our butts off, made sacrafices that others wouldn't have the courage to and earned our spots because we are the top 15 in the world. This is a great group of girls that represent our sport very well. So if we hit ten barrels and fall off and disappoint you a with how we ride please at least respect us enough to stay positive. We are doing the best we can.
:)
Well said girl! Keep it up, you all deserve to be there and its been great watching every night! |

Pattern of what?? I have said my apologies and Mrs. Loflin has excepted it and we talked it over. I wasn't meaning to be rude and she knows that. I should have worded it better but I wasn't thinking about it sounding rude. |

| I think people need to think before they type (thats all I am going to say about that and its not directed to just the OP, its been happening a lot on here lately).
But Christy, I hope you know that you are such an inspiration and I was more bummed than ever that I couldnt make this NFR because I am dying to see you and Movin in action!
I have the utmost respect for someone who lets the speed come and figured out their timing, setup, etc. We all know Movin can MOVE (even though her coast is still faster than probably any horse i've ridden)!!! I have no doubt that you guys will make noise in the T&M!!!!!
Keep being you and I hope one day, I get to meet you!!! Ride hard and win some money. Movin is working hard and she is a force to reckin with once she finally nails her mojo! A mare with that big of a heart is bound to do great things! |

To be honest I cannot even believe that you are there with what you have been through the past few months. You are one tough cookie. From the bottom of my heart I wish you the best of luck and super runs. I love to watch anyone who has made the accomplishments that all of you girls have made. It makes me feel good to know that there are people who have the drive that ALL of you at the NFR have. Remember that is very easy to criticize, especially when someone is clueless. Again best of luck to all of you. |

Can I like this more than once....what Christy said. AND she said it with grace, without stepping on toes that might need to be stepped on. Thank you from someone who has SO MUCH respect for the top 15 barrel racers in the world. You all ROCK!! |

Location: Michigan | Christy, thank you so much for sharing as much as you do! You are really the first NFR competitor (at least that I've followed) that lets all of us see so much of what goes on backstage! It was great getting to know you during last year's NFR (getting to know you-- I really just mean stalking your facebook page). And now I feel like we all know you as the champion you are. You are truly inspirational! I think you do a dang good job riding your horse and it is awesome to see how much you 2 love each other! I am rooting for you! |
