Location: Where I am happiest | She sells the helmets at her store. She is not sponsored by them. She carries 2 different brands of helmets in her store. Tipperary and Troxel. She gets no sponsorship money from either one. She said in a interview at the beginning of the NFR her husband who is a NFL football player has been after her for some time to wear a helmet. Givin her past injury, and the questionable ground, then the little girl in her booth requesting her to do so, she thought it was prime time. That is what I know! Not because I have ever talked to her,or had any dealings with her, but because by nature I am a researcher and that is what my research has turned up. I'm not a "Fan" and I'm not a "Hater". I am a fan however of the statement she is making regarding helmets to help it be more accepted. If it helps our youth, and possibly some adults to feel more confidant about wearing a helmet, then I for the life of me cant figure out how ANYONE could twist that into a bad thing. But, such as how BHW turns. |

| I don't care if you do or you dont wear a helmet! It should be a personal choice. I don't see anything negative if someone wants to wear one. I don't agree with the TIMING of her helmet debut professionally or personally. I dislike that it has become the center stage. I dislike that her actions have caused the focus to shift from other contestants and this has taken center stage. I dislike that others are viewed as selfish bc they CHOOSE not to wear one.
And from a marketing standpoint it's even more disloyal to her paying sponsors if she isn't getting an endorsement check bc the helmet is being marketed by her for FREE! Her paying sponsors ARE NOT getting the same publicity the helmets are.

I believe it has become center stage because
1) This is the NFR
2) She has been on FIRE. Running tuff as nails.
Had she been not placing round after round it wouldn't be talked about as much but because she has been center stage night after night then of course she is talked about. Heck, there was a thread on here even asking what she weighed.
As far as the timing....are you kidding me? No, she should not do what she felt best for HER PERSONAL CHOICES what she thought was no time like the present. She should run on that crap ground and disregard what her husband has been after her to do and what her own heart and head was telling her to do just so some "haters" with an appearant personal vendetta axe to grind wouldn't have anything to wag their finger at. Are you freaking kidding me?????????????????????????/
And of course, HOW DARE SHE use ANY equipment she isn't endorsed by!!! Doesn't matter that the rest of the top 15 use some equipment they aren't sponsored by, but by golly she better not. Holy geezzzz I have heard it all now. |

| I am always amused that dislike or disagreement with anyone or anything is labeled as a "hater" I just don't agree or like it. I'm allowed. I don't have the energy to hate. I just find this all interesting from a marketing perspective. I DID in my previous posts give credit for her hard work and her success :) I never once attac led her as a person :) |

It has become center stage b/c...
#1 She has plastered her outfits/pictures all over FB and other social media so that she can win best dressed.
#2 She has a huge following from younger barrel racers and so everyone feels the need to take up for her when she is being bashed about her outfits, riding style, helmets, etc....
#3 She has talked about it in every and all interviews she has had
If she doesn't have a sponsorship with a helmet company yet, I am sure she easily could after her "performance" at the NFR. But I highly doubt she continues to wear helmets once the dust settles.
I am with the other ladies in that I feel like it is extremely disappointing in the way that there has almost seemed to be a negative light shined on the other contestants because they aren't doing what "Fallon" is doing.
Also I wouldn't say she has been on FIRE.....I don't think anyone can be on FIRE with the ground conditions the way they are. But yes she has made some good runs.... |

You have just said everything I've been thinking for the last few days.
I was a true Fallon follower two years ago before she went back on all the things she preached because she was beginning to get endorsements.
It would seem everyone is forgetting the terrible business practices and scams she ran.

Nobody is forgetting anything obviously as it has been brought up on almost every page. However, it has NOTHING to do with wearing a helmet. I dont believe anybody is all bad, nor is anybody except Jesus all good. I also believe in giving credit where credit is due. |

 Own It and Move On
Location: The edge of no where | Ever hung out with a bunch of kids? They're MEAN! I see it as a huge positive that Fallon is trying to make it cool/mainstream to wear a helmet. I don't wear one, but every time I watch the youth classes I spend a lot of time wincing until they get pulled up. Some of these kids are really good riders, but shutting down the high powered fire breathing dragons they're on can be so scary to watch. If by watching someone run at the NFR and pretty much kick butt in a helmet makes anyone else feel more comfortable about wearing theirs, then can't we just look at the positive of that? I've seen snarky posts from team ropers about helmets not belonging in a cowboy sport, and I know they'd be just as tacky in person. I have thick skin and have no problem standing up for myself or anyone else....but what about those that are just getting started and take it to heart? As long as no one is forcing it on everyone, how about if we don't worry about the motives or the possibility of financial gain? Does it matter? I'm not a fan, **** sure would never do a horse deal with her....but I have a HUGE amount of respect for anyone that marketing savy that doesn't give a rat's ass what people think and I hope she is laughing all the way to the bank as her clothing line takes off and that she sells tons of helmets!
For the person that said she's not on fire....ummm... She's made $90,000 this week!!!! That's freakin impressive!
I'm hoping Lisa gets the world title tonight, RUN LOUIE RUN!!!

Kids are not the only mean ones. Adults can be pretty miserable too. Just look at how critical all of us armchair quarterbacks here on bhw behave sometimes. |

Nicole started the Helmet Tough campaign and should get her due credit for really starting the helmets in barrel racing revolution. She's been wearing one for years and whooping tail while doing it.
Who cares if Fallon front & center? She's wearing crazy clothes and a colorful helmet on a crazy fast badass of a horse!! She's grabbing attention for being consistent and running well!! Lisa is in the spotlight for leading the average and the world. Fallon is also in the spotlight for being right there in contention also. Everyone else is in the shadows because they're not in contention for the World. I love Sherry, but it hasn't been her week. Kassidy got her credit when she won a round. Trula, Brittany, Michele and Mary did also.
Other than that it's been the Louie and Baby Flo Show! |

| Tony Pitcock trainer of Red Man Bay has also always worn a helmet. I wear one sometimes when I'm on a green horse but not usually. However, it's hard to argue with the fact that it truly is the smartest thing to do. It's like wearing your seat belt in your car....it's for the unexpected accident not for the normal everyday thing...preparedfor the worse case scenario and be safe rather than sorry. |
