LOL No what is "TACKY" is that she made the comment in the first place. What difference does it make where she is ranked? And if you are going to make comments like what have been made with the condescending remarks as to their "credientals" then you ought to be as good or better. Just sayin! |

One good comparison is to the reality shows about loggers - we are from logger country up here in the Pacific NW and loggers sure aren't like they are portrayed on those shows. Or those morons on the gold mining shows, I hate that Todd dude, how did he get the money to even go gold mining?
Why are all these reality shows from the PNW? LOL
GG, I think we're all just easily amused. And bored in the wet winters. |

AT ALL Is she ranked before or after you? THAT was tacky!!! Pretty funny though considering how people are saying that the barrel racers in the show can't even place in the 4D when one of them held the world record on a standard with a 16.75 and won the DNCFR.
Yep. I don't know of anyone else that has posted on this topic that has held the world record on a standard (or has even ran a 16 on a standard for that matter) or is a DNCFR champion. Lots of mud throwing going around and we wonder how barrel racers got a bad name? I can tell ya it wasn't from this show that has never aired!!! Do you think that maybe it could be from the judgemental, catty, and insecure woman that always seem to enter up at the events or come on boards such as this and bash other barrel racers? Lighten up everyone! These girls can ride, they look good, they are on a TV show about THEM, there may be some drama involved. Oh well! |

Location: Peach State | My comment was based on another ad for this show in which the article stated it was following some of the sports top competitors. Obviously since the women had to have won some money to even be ranked at all but they are false in saying she is amount the top. |

Location: Peach State | On a positive note maybe this show will help shine some light on the sport so when I tell someone I barrel race try won't look at me like a crazy person thinking that it involves myself racing around a track atop a barrel :) |

Do you think Charmayne James is one of the sports top competitors? Where is she ranked? Do you think Dena Kirkpatrick is one of the sports top competitors? Where is she ranked? Do you think Bo Hill is one of the sports top competitors? Where is she ranked? Not every top competitor is ranked highly in the WPRA. |

This show is highly amusing to me already and it hasn't even aired yet!

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | Just a question so dont flame me, But is this show going to be all about barrel racing and being on the road, or is it going to be about these girls personal life showing how they get along with others, or is it going to be all about cat fights and fighting over boyfriends and fist fights, showing skin and boobs and trash talk, i think most of the reality shows dont show the good its always the bad side of things with lots of trash to fill in the parts that get boring. Just my thoughts |

That is the million dollar question! And what is aggrevating about the negative comments and assumptions that have been made. No one knows until it aired. Marvel is a true horsewoman. She comes from a family of horseman. Barb West is a true hand in her own rights. I don't know who else is involved with the show. So, with that said it's a wait and see and have an open mind concept. |

Just my thoughtsΒ Β According to Weinstein Productions and A&E they are saying the show is "Ice road truckers meets the housewives." Based on that, they are apparently presenting it as a day in the life of these girls with the focus being drama like the housewives. Both companies statements specifically state drama and glamour.

Location: Illinois | I'm sure a lot of personal life drama will be in it. The ad for the show mentions roping cowboys. A show strictly on the sport without a some drama wouldn't survive on the air more than one or two episodes to the general public. It's marketed at them, not for the rest of us barrel racers who already full well know what's involved in the sport. They may not be the top competitors, but honestly were any of them going to take time out of their chase to the NFR to film a tv show that I'm sure is actually very little reality? Probably not, their focus is solely on those three cans. |
