Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | Andy {Husband} went to HEB this sunday morning like he does every sunday after church to pick up a few things to cook over the week, well he got there and there was a line of people waiting to go in, strange never seen this befor at HEB a line of people, so he gets up there and theres employee's of HEB telling people to slow down walk slow and theres a limited on certain things you can get, Hummm now they have employee's at both doors telling the shoppers how to shop, how fast and how much they can buy. And the stores hours are from 8 in the morning till 8 in the evening now. So he left and went to Wal-Mart no waiting in line there, got in and out with no problems, the cleaning supplys shelves were pretty empty and all milk, water was gone. been really calm around here for the last couple of weeks and now people are starting to panic.. | Libraries are closed, the zoo's, they are screening people before letting them into hospitals, I get that... schools are closed. Baseball games have been suspended until further notice as well as practices. We are staying home as much as possible. Kids can practice here with their baseball... we spent yesterday afternoon planting our garden and doing yard work! Hopefully we will get a bountiful veggie garden this year .. last year was a wash ... got way too much rain too fast and it drowned our plants. We did a few more pots this year on the porch so I can move them inside if needed. Trying to keep the kiddos busy and occupied. Schools are closed for an additional 2 weeks.. I pretty much follow along with the school schedule for homeschooling, but I think I'm going to start them back up on our schooling next week to keep the momentum going! |

| All of our stores are out of ground beef. I have a bunch of ground deer and steaks in my deep freeze but was limited on my ground beef. We have a few large briskets and hubby is grinding them up to make our own ground beef! We had to run to a store to get freezer bags for the food saver ... sports and outdoor store .. all the ammo was bought out .... |

If you dig into the CDC deeper, there has been one case reported in Alabama ...... http://www.alabamapublichealth.gov/news/2020/03/13.html Also, note that the states with the highest confirmed cases are on the borders .....Washington(457); California(225) and New York (325). These are only cases reported. There could be many more that had so mild of symptoms that they didn't get tested ....but they CAN spread the disease. I would rather be safe than sorry ..... |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | If this coronavirus was BS/hype I dont think our government would have taken this as far as they have gone as in shutting down events and getting business's to have shorter hours. I dont think the government want business's to loose money, they want to stop this coronavirus spread to save lives.

| We need to try to stop the spread. I'm actually ok with them canceling events and limiting hours of stores. We need to be proactive not reactive. My daughter just left with her father to go to a week long motorcycle race. I'm extremely unhappy about it and they both know it. I had her pack enough to stay at her fathers house for 2 more weeks after they get back. They think I'm being overly dramatic but thats the only was she could go. She has to stay at his place for at least 2 weeks before coming home. I told him he was reckless and foolish for taking her and telling her she could go. I hope and pray I'm being over dramatic, thatd be the best case scenario in my opinion..... I'm not fearful of the virus itself, I fear people.... its proven, look at our stores... emptied out, no one cares about others... there was no need to hoard, but now there is because if you dont, you will be without. Ammo flying off the shelves...having to wait in line to get into a grocery store and being told you can only buy 2 or 1 of this and that ... I dont know about ya'll, but I dont like that one bit... let's not be the type of people that need to be limited on purchases of basic necessities... its embarrassing. |

Location: Ky | The country is having to deal with this in a vacuum. There is absolutely no leadership coming from the white house. The so called president is just letting Faux News be his mouthpiece. Or Dan Bonggong. Either way, no leadership. Of course this is the "art of the deal" guy. Which means just file bankruptcy and hope it all goes away. Is that his plan? |

| Do you guys wonder with how far the quarantine and shut down of everything has gone country wide that there is more to this virus, as far as severity of it, then we are being lead to believe??? I understand social distancing but the enormity of this and what is happening nationally is Scary! I'm a dental hygienist and we use universal precautions on every patient we see long before this but I'm honestly worried myself just because everything is shutting down. Seeing that happen has me more on edge because it's like the world is ending. We haven't decided to shut our office just screen patients before they come in. |

Ms. Dr. Phil
Location: My happy place | I hate to jump in her but I just have to. I have read this crazy board a long time, back when you all hated the Dixie Chicks and you could never discuss Bush or the war. Then Obama came along and I watched most of you trash and call him names daily. Seems to me the respect the president went out the window for 8 years. Yet you all jump on the Trump Train and respect this guy. I will answer the question. A sensible president wouldn't have dismantled Obama's pandemic team and then lied about it on TV. He said it wasn't needed and he had the ability to put the best people in quickly if necessary. Now the wonderful Senator from Ohio wrote him a letter 2 years ago and told him it was wrong. You can read it below. He also called the PBS reporter a female NASTY for asking the question. Appears we learned nothing from the flu. How is putting those best people in working? https://www.dispatch.com/news/20200315/capitol-insider--trump-didnt-know-about-cutting-pandemic-office-but-sherrod-brown-letter-shows-otherwise I am also amazed I read that we haven't made penicillin in the US since 2004 and 95% of our drugs come from China. I really don't think accusing them of planting it seems smart, even if they did. Face it if the wanted to get us drugs would be the way to go. We advertise them on TV, to cure everything. The fact that no one on this board is talking and discussing this says volumes to me. I am also amazed that the President is using this to cut interest rates it won't help anyone with stuff already financed. However it will allow other countries to take advantage of that rate and buy up more of the farms in the USA. I have many thoughts on this but I'm sure my typos and grammar will be a much better subject, since I don't agree with the rest of you. I spend a lot of time trying to imagine.......... What if Obama did that? Think about some of the things he has done and said. Prayers we all get through this and come out a little smarter. I guess I'm one of those Nasty women cause I don't agree with much he does at all. |

| What exactly is Trump supposed to be doing right now? He got a test done and was negative for coronavirus, I'm actually surprised he hasn't been accused of having a vaccine for it yet.. People are being told to stay calm and quit panic shopping, stay home, avoid social situations.... people don't listen .... what else can they do??? Before long it will be martial law in place if we arent careful, looting will start and the real crap will hit the fan.... |

Location: My happy place | I think his job is to reassure the people that someone is in charge. IMO his press conferences and I have watched them all he has spent more time congratulating his private companies and patting himself on the back. I personally could care less if he took the test or not. I have also followed his Twitter page, which is hilarious if you read the comments. Law makers like the Ohio Senator and IL mayor are actually trying to get his atttention on there, since he won't take there calls. I also checked out Obama's Twitter (don't tweet but you can read on computer) much better information and more Presidential. You asked and I answered, this board has been slow and boring. I'm staying home. I do think you made the right call with Jacob, so glad he's doing good. I also don't understand the hate for the press, I wish some of you could explain that to me? Yes there is bias.... on both sides. I like to read everything and make up my own mind. ETA: For the lady in Arkansas who think it's made up better check some other websites one I checked said 16. It has also touched our area a guy who went to a high school sectional game, he's been silghtly sick for 2 weeks, just got tested and he been all over casinos and really busy before he got checked out. I guess he thought it was nothing to worry about, because he wasn't told. That pandemic team could have warned us it was there job. JMO

Location: Kansas | If you'll notice, the epicenters for the start of the virus in the US are sanctuary cities and sanctuary states. We have the Democrats to thank for diseases that walk across our border unwelcome and illegal so don't knock Trump for anything until you can figure out a way to justif that. Also remember the H1N1 that killed thousands of Americans in 2009 while Obama was blithering about waterboarding, holding concerts and Hollywood parties at the White House (compliments of the taxpayers) and scheduling one vacation after another. |

I can't seem to post links but a quick Google search with give you many very good sources to say that is not true. I know facebook posts crap like that all the time, I wish people would check sources. ETA: If you look at the map the epicenter is really a lot of airports. I don't think what is going on now is going to help that. I also read an article about how China feels about us and the way we treat our poor. Since you mentioned the sanctuary cities, they may be right that the rich want to blame it all on the poor people.

How would the pandemic team have helped us concerning the man who went to casinos, etc? I'm asking this seriously. As far as staying home, I'm not planning on going to large gatherings, etc; however, I'm an accountant, it's tax season, and as far as I know, the IRS hasn't listed this virus as a reason for being late filing. . . . I'm washing my hands quite often throughout the day, and I'm sanitizing my hands also. But I can't just "stay home". |

Since China discovered it in December, it would have been the pandemic teams job to monitor and keep the President informed. I didn't mean it would have helped in our area I was speaking for the country as a whole. I believe he called it fake news on March 5, and was holding rallies on the 4th. Some of his tweets seem gone about how it would all blow over. He also fired all the people (one was a Cheif of Staff) who were pandemic experts and didn't replace them with qualified people. Rex Tillerson was right. He also suggested in tweets help for the cruise & hotel industry. I understand the hotels (wink wink) but the cruise industry shocks me. I have read that a lot of cruise companies base them out of foreign countries to avoid US taxes or pay no taxes at all. Now I'm not a cruise person but I think they should pay taxes like the rest of us. I bet they tax your cruise and send the US coast guard if they need help. That is one reason I would never cruise. I hope you all follow the money. That free market you all talk about is only free if you can afford it. JMO

Location: I can see the end of the world from here! | Been awhile since I've been on here...I came on to see if anyone was talking about the NFR Flu that many of us went home with. Sore throat, sudden high fever, dry cough...same symptoms as this virus. Then, after reading the posts I saw where Polopony (?) was trashing Trump & calling him a liar while stating: "I think his job is to reassure the people that someone is in charge." Just had to laugh...can't have it both ways. Blessings to all and 'good health'! |
